CDC Status of COVID-19 Response Plans - Where's the other ships

Recommended Posts

Found this CDC site which lists the ships that are planning to operate in US waters during the initial phase.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/crew-disembarkations-commercial-travel.html

Per the site, the table is updated weekly - last update was 10/29/2020.

Where's Allure and Radiance and....

Thanks for posting this link. I have mentioned this information two or three times and stated it's one step at a time. Royal has been preparing to sail again for months now. ("The purpose of testing during the initial phases of the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order is to ensure cruise ship operators have adequate health and safety protections for crew members while they build the onboard laboratory capacity needed to test crew and future passengers.")

That site was set up in March to allow crew transfers via the US and lines/ships had to each be certified to allow for that. The function has not been used since August (lines have been doing crew changes outside of the US). The web site was updated with the FAQ at the bottom. I imagine the page will be  modified to list lines/ship confirming to the new CDC guidelines to sail. None of the cruise lines had a chance to add/delete ships with the CDC since the order just came out yesterday so it no way correctly reflects which ships will sail in the US. That table has been that way for months (with slight changes in colors in the Ship Status column).

I agree! This list does not reflect which ships will sail, but I believe Royal has a plan for the two or three they will start with. Didn't their CEO say that they were not just sitting around all these months, but would be ready to sail as soon as possible?

None of the ships have enough crew to do anything but maintain the ship. RCI has cancelled sailings far enough out that they can get crew in to restart, but while the crew may get on board in a month, sailing with paying passengers will take a lot longer (due to the new rules).
