Knicks1130 Posted November 10, 2020 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2020 I am cruising next year with NCL CAS... Would I get more perks/ treated better if I send $5/10k front money or open up casino credit? I would think I Hosts would see that and want to service me better
CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted November 15, 2020 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2020 I am familiar with Landbased casinos credit, but believe it is Not done on cruises. I've heard of people buying a certain amount of Onboard credit ahead, but it might be different now. Also many cruises have your play tied to your credit card which is on your cabin. (Or you could hold cash on your cabin, but believe this is done at boarding) Last cruise I was on, found out we are able to use up to $2,500 charged to your cabin per day, for casino play. I did Not do that amount lol, but I was playing next to a couple that said they did. Talk about cc points! 😬

I just download money at the machines and it goes on my onboard account as a 'purchase'. (I get comped cruises plus items comped off my onboard account.) Have you cruised with NCL and have a prior play history in their casinos?

muggo11 Posted April 5, 2021 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2021 I have established credit lines on Princess and Carnival. Staff definitely recognize me as so few people do this. But I don’t think it got me any extra perks. Just gives me some extra float time to move money to pay off my losses if I have a bad run!
garycarla Posted December 4, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 4, 2022 Old wife's tale. If you could just send in $10k or more of front money, many of us would do it. PLAY is what counts. Period.

You seriously revived a thread that was dead for 18 months to tell us that comps is based on play?

angela12345 Posted December 9, 2022 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2022 Don't be sorry @garycarla I would 10000% rather an old thread be revived and information be added to it, than a new thread started. It's a PITA when doing a search for something to get 100 threads, each with like 3 responses that I have to click on each thread individually. Personally, I'd much rather them all be in one thread. I was happy to see this thread and answer pop up. I learned something from your answer that I didn't know I didn't know. Party on Garth ! Excellent !
peak17 Posted January 4, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 4, 2023 I have a credit line on NCL, mainly because I don’t like carrying larger sums of cash while traveling. It doesn’t affect my rating, they don’t care how you got the money, just how you use it.
Young and Restless Posted February 17, 2023 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2023 I also set up a line of credit with most cruise lines because not wanting to carry cash and not wanting to pay the 3% fee if you use your sea pass. Plus the Casino Manager always meets me.

I don’t like traveling with so much cash and hate paying ATM fees.
Young and Restless Posted February 27, 2023 #13 Share Posted February 27, 2023 Before the sail date , usually 3 - 4 weeks early. I believe NCL is Casinos at Sea. You set a minimum of $5000.00 and provide the on board casino a signed check after boarding. Then you get a marker from the pitboss when needed. At end of the cruise you will go to cashier and fill out the amount you owe on the check or pay off the balance and get your check back. Hope this helps
