frankh1969 Posted December 9, 2020 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2020 I need some help. Which loop is the best itinerary in the Galapagos? The Northern or Southern Loop?
dani negreanu Posted December 10, 2020 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2020 When I cruised Galapagos, there were 2 itineraries -- A & B. All I can tell you that at North Seymour we were the closest to animals, therefore I'd choose the "Loop" which includes this stop. Being very near the animals is the whole purpose of this cruise. Another amazing stop was Elizabeth Bay... it was eerie sailing there. The whole experience with Xpedition was top notch.

Roxydog15 Posted December 10, 2020 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2020 Hi there. We did the Outer Loop in June 2018, on the Expedition, and it was amazing. I had read from others on that roll call that pretty much any loop will be fine. But it also depends on what animals are your preference to experience, and if you really want to see mating rituals, or the resulting babies, weather, etc. That decision would then drive which month you go and which Loop might be best for your purpose. We picked June just because I wanted it to be very warm for snorkeling. We walked right next to sea lions on beaches, blue footed boobies maybe a yard away. Amazing experience. Consider bringing hiking boots (if you have the packing space) to support your ankles. Paths can be "groomed" gravel or very rocky. I rolled my ankle the first day out. Had to walk it off, no choice! Also, water sandles worked really well. But sneakers are worn by most. If you have any specific questions, I'd be glad to share our experience. bob brown Posted February 20, 2021 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2021 I am researching this for 2022, and it will be a 'one time only' experience for us, so we would like to select which one is "not to be missed", or which is the most popular attraction there... rakes5 Posted February 20, 2021 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2021 We found this thread, plus part 1 and 2, to be very helpful, Some if it is outdated, but still helpful overall.
