Celebrity South America - Puerto Madryn

I posted this in the South America Ports of call but haven't gotten any responses, so I thought I turn to the Celebrity cruisers for advice.

My wife and I did a South America cruise this Feb on the Celebrity Eclipse and we liked it so much we are going back in 2022 and visiting many of the same ports.

In Feb we did Puerto Madryn on our own,  We got a Taxi to Trewlew to see the Paleontology Museum and then had a fabulous lunch in town, walked along the beach front.

When we return in 2022, wife thinks she wants to go see the living animals on Peninsula Valdes, but I am curious about the tour and the area and wondering if it is worth a full day's time to go there.

Did you go?   Did all day seem too long?    What animals did you see?

We went on the shorter trip-with an Asado lunch.  It was great LOTS of penguins.  There were also sea lions waiting off shore for penguins who took the plunge.  There was also a hare—look closely in the one picture.  Lunch was excellent at a farm and the drive was nice.  We heard negative comments about the longer trip.

We did the tour early this year and enjoyed it and the walk to see the penguins very much.  It was about a mile out, but we started seeing small groups right after starting the walk.  Very easy walking even with temperatures in the high 80s the day we were there.  Good bbq lunch at the building in earlier post. Saw llamas (or close relatives) on the way out, as well as stop at lighthouse.  Interesting seeing fiberglass lighthouse and sea lions sunning themselves.

We did a wonderful day private tour to Peninsula Valdes and saw so much wildlife.   We were so close to the Penguins that we could almost touch them.  The elephant seals were so many they covered the  beached below us.  Don't miss this.
