Our last stop before the airport was at Liberty Market which was a shopping mall that had been created in the 'historic' Naval barracks...IMG_4209.thumb.JPG.b058857dd4e94fe0438a6c3d04be2ae5.JPG

I’ve been to San Diego, as part of a two centre holiday in the 90’s.

we spent a week in Los Angeles, and then drove down to San Diego.

I really liked San Diego. I remember the Zoo, Seaworld, the Coronado Bridge and the Spanish Art Village.

We stayed at a beach hotel, and watched the sun set over the Pacific each evening,

Unfortunately, this was pre digital days, so the photos are in the loft.

One advantage of digital is that photos are so easily accessible

We have not been to San Diego  so its another At Sea day for us.

May well be the same tomorrow as  I think our SF days were pre digital.

Probably just as well as I am gardening while it is dry 🤞  and if

rained off am transferring my offsite backup pics from Google Drive

to Google photos which is a nightmare!. 🤬

Will catch up and see what you have all been up to.

Your photos of San Francisco brought back lots of happy memories of the 2 visits we made in the 1990s with our son. We haven't visited on a cruise ship though and would love to sail under the Golden Gate.

My pictures are very old and we look so young!!! I've lost a lot of the pictures over the years and these are from our first visit in1991

We visited San Francisco in 2017. We did two legs of a world cruise from Singapore to San Francisco.

We sailed into SF on a perfect morning and the whole ship was out on deck for the sail in.  We visited Alcatraz and Carmel on our tour and then walked round the Pier 39 area.  WE flew home the next day, but if we had stayed on board we would have gone into the city.

The whole cruise was an amazing experience for us, and SF was the cherry on top of the cake

Vancouver today, Sailing into Juneau tomorrow.

I seem to have lost some of my photos of Vancouver, some of these are when we crossed over to the other side and took a bus ride and then a cable car up the mountain.

Vancouver - we only had an overnight here between Rocky Mountaineer and Alaska Cruise, most of photos taken from the hotel. Didn't have time to do any sightseeing here.

It is not possible to do Vancouver justice on a port visit,

Would be difficult to do it all in a month! if including the

surrounding areas. Here we go around Vancouver in ~20 pictures LOL

-2010  in no particular order a few odd bits  from 350 shots.

Thank you for the pictures of Vancouver. Once again, they bring back many happy memories. Our first visit was in 1996 and was a 25th wedding anniversary celebration. We did a land tour of the east coast and then flew from Toronto to Calgary to continue the land tour over the Rockies to Vancouver. my dearest and best friend married a Canadian and she moved to Canada straight after her wedding which was 2 weeks after ours. We were bridesmaid for each other. I hadn't seen her for 25 years and she and her husband drove 1,000 miles to see us for 1 night in Banff. We now, of course, keep in touch via FaceTime but I will never forget that magical meeting in Banff. We both celebrate our 50th anniversaries in June this year and were hoping to meet up for a holiday together but sadly Covid has scuppered that plan.....

Our second and longer visit to Vancouver was in 2007 and was part of an extended trip to North America. We stayed with cruising friends in Kalamazoo, USA, and then with my lovely friend in Regina, Canada, before doing the Rocky Mountaineer from Calgary to Vancouver. One of the strangest things was seeing a cricket match taking place in Stanley park with totem poles in the background.....
