Transpacific Vancouver Canada to Japan September 2022 crossing

Can anyone who has cruised this direction previously speak to choosing Port or Starboard cabins on this western transit?

With 9 sea days after departing Sitka Alaska on the Pacific Ocean, am wondering what is the best side of the ship for this west transit for afternoon sun.

We are not interested in aft facing cabins.

Thanks you.

I hope that Kwokpot sees this.  When I was considering a very similar cruise, he had awesome info for me, as he had done many as well as land trips

It's a good question because the "map" on the Celebrity site looks like it sales SW until the International Dateline but I believe that is deceptive; we chose the port side for that very cruise (also low to center for smoother sailing). I grew up in Alaskan waters, deep sea fishing, and the water and wind is COLD, even in August and more active than the Atlantic, in my opinion. Early Fall, we're expecting some choppy seas and temps from mild to cold.

You might ask your question on the roll call for the cruise; there are repeat cruisers for that same itinerary and season.

We are on this cruise, have done it previously. We have an ocean view cabin, as before. This time we are right at the front of the ship.

our best views were from the open deck, wrapped up in jackets, watching the volcanoes of the Aleutian Islands. Other great views are the sail away parties given by the Japanese people. Drummers, school kids singing the squid song, ladies in beautiful kimonos... great sights.

See you on board, Spartan Tartan. My tartan is Buchanan.

Regardless of whether the ships takes a Great Circle or Rhumb Line routing, in the afternoon the sun should always be on the ship's Port side. While past weather is never a great indicator of what you will experience, I suggest the chance of seeing much sun is fairly remote.

In such high Latitudes, any sun you do see will be fairly low in the sky, especially if the cruise is late September.
