Majestic L105/L106 or M105/M106

Hello,

 

Booking one of these for Alaska. Looking for opinions on Lido vs. Marina deck/location and I know there is not much of an overhang above either but trying to determine if one has more coverage than the other. Can't tell from the pics/videos I've seen.

I would go with Lido. We always book those forward cabins on Lido and the view can't be beat!

My concern about booking on Lido deck is that the Hollywood Conservatory is directly above and there is the chance of hearing chairs/furniture being moved around.

I also believe that the balconies (Which are huge to begin with) are larger on the Marina Deck.

The balcony is HUGE on Marina deck, but I like the room layout on Lido deck.  Either one is a winner.

We have L106 booked on the September 12th sailing out of Seattle.  Does anyone know if they block/lock the balcony while at sea?

Usually (as seen in reviews) not blocked or locked. There is a sign on the door.

Also, please know Emerald way forward cabins are very nice and private with large balconies.

We are nearby on the same sailing - L102. When we sailed the Baltic in the same cabin (on Royal Princess) we never had any issues with using the balcony - even when it was windy, foggy, and cold as all get out (in Oslo), so I don't think there will be any problems. Looking forward to the views in Glacier Bay from our cabin location!

I asked about this the other day after booking a balcony in that area. The replies were reassuring as to possible noise, so I decided to stick with that cabin since I liked the location very much.

We had M108 on the Royal a couple of years back, and the balcony was never locked.
