Taking Luggage off the day before Disembarkation

  We will be going on a cruise to Iceland in 2022. Upon arrival at our final stop Reykjavik   (we are there for one full day and then disembarking the next day).  We are going to be renting a car on our first day and keeping it for several days of site seeing before flying back home.   We will be parking it at the cruise port. 

  Can we take some of our luggage (2 large suitcases) off the ship early (on the first day in port) and put them in our car (clothing only) to make disembarkation day a little easier?  We are planning to self disembark.

I don't see why not - the only significant issue maybe declaration of customs of items

purchased abroad or from duty free on board the ship.
 

What is are the Iceland customs requirements ?

 

NCL should not care - 2 less large suitcases for the crew to unload.

 

But just in case you should clear it thru Guest Services in case of some hidden obscure

regulation (anti-convenience) forbidding such i.e. Guests must remove all luggage at the

same time of their final disembarking  (really who would have thought of that one) LOL !

Agree....I don't think NCL cares what you do with your suitcases.  Customs?  I'd be more concerned with how they view it.

Can't speak for Iceland but with an overnight in Sydney people were allowed to disembark on the first day.  Immigration (passport inspection) and Customs inspections (for those with luggage) were done when we arrived with everyone "checking in" between about 7 and 9 am and you could return to the ship after 11.
