photographers?

Our first river cruise ever..scheduled for the last week of October 2021...(already rescheduled from October last year)....are there any photographers on board to take pictures like there is on the ocean cruises? just wondering

I have never seen one on Scenic but almost everyone has a camera from mobile phone to really top of the range so if you want a picture make loads of friends and ask nicely. CA

Only two of our river cruises had photographers on board — in Russia and Egypt with Uniworld. Both were a few years ago. They were not as in your face as the ones we’ve experienced on ocean cruises.

never seen one on river cruises - and I used to work with onboard photo concessionaires in a previous life.  Just not enough pax on board to justify the expense of running it.  Not only a live in photographer but where do you put the printing equipment.  Even in the digital age, they are a reasonable size.  Plus no real area to display the pictures - even if that was a digital display

One of our early cruise directors asked us all for a selection of photographs we had taken and an SD card, on our last evening she presented us with our SD cards loaded with all the photographs. An awful lot of work but a wonderful memory of our cruise plus photos of the majority of our fellow cruisers. CA

If you are looking for a nice portrait as a memory of your cruise, ask several people throughout the cruise to take your picture.  Then when you get home and look at these and have a couple you really like, take your SD card with your choice pictures and go to a camera shop that "develops" pictures.  They should have a photoshop and will take your picture and turn it into a portrait or whatever.  You should be able to see it before they print it.  I have done this with a couple great landscape pictures that are now enlarged (just to the size I needed) and nicely framed and hanging in our family room.
