I didn't think of that. I interpreted this line as "you don't need a vaccine to board the ship" but all the bars, casinos, buffets, flow riders, mini golf, theaters, etc all require vaccines. So you can board, you just cant do much once you get there. 3

No point on speculating what restrictions, costs, etc. when I don't believe even RCL even knows this -- they're still trying to figure out what would be the best experience and logistics for every one.

Another thought -- possibly off the wall -- could be to ask vaccinated passengers to upload aa picture or scan to a non-Florida office (is the Oregon call center still open)
rabidstoat Posted June 8, 2021 #59 Share Posted June 8, 2021 The CDC order does say that areas can be designated for vaccinated people only, and then the restrictions wouldn't have to apply in those areas. That seems like it wouuld go over really, really poorly. Especially if it wasn't broadcast well in advance. Imagine going on a cruise where you were told vaccinations weren't required and then suddenly learning that only 10% of the ship was accessible by you.

It was my understanding that the Florida law prohibits Royal from requiring proof of vaccination to board the ship. But the way I read it, it doesn't prohibit them from asking if someone has had the vaccine. If that's the case but no proof has to be shown, then nothing's stopping someone from lying. It's basically the honor system. So how then would they differentiate between vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers? Maybe I'm making a mountain of a molehill here, but it does bring a question to my mind. They could say "if you would like to avoid this $350 COVID test, we will accept your vaccine card as a waiver; by the way there will be another $350 COVID test on days 3 and 6 as well."

I just think they’ll ignore the FL issue, entirely and let it play out in court. But, you get an electronic bracelet if you’re vaccinated. No bracelet? You’re wearing a mask in public spaces and being tested in other spaces (which will have a charge associated with it).

For a cabin of 2 who are un-vaccinated, that is an extra $2100 for a 7 day cruise. Yep, that will ensure everyone has a vaccine alright! 4
