kevanmia Posted June 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2021 Booked on the 8/28/21 Apex cruise - Greece, Israel - currently showing tons of Concierge and Aqua class rooms available... still pretty high pricing though. Please share your experiences with Celebrity Move-Up on recently restarted sailings. Pre-COVID, it was expected that sailings would practically go out 95%+ full regardless of season. Now that empty cabins are a "thing" again - in the short term - what are bids going for and have you been successful?
mikkelhansen Posted June 22, 2021 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2021 (edited) There are a few asking prices and bid prices in the main MoveUp thread, starting from comment #225: Edited June 22, 2021 by mikkelhansen
wrk2cruise Posted June 22, 2021 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2021 I received them for 7/3 Edge sailing and they were no bargain.
pumpkin 11 Posted June 22, 2021 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2021 (edited) Bet the minimum, you'll get the upgrade. They'll take your money! Edited June 22, 2021 by pumpkin 11
jelayne Posted June 22, 2021 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2021 There have been a few recent posts on the Move-Up tracker. 3 reported bidding, 2 successful and 1 pending. The 2 successful were on the 7 day Apex sailing A successful bid from a Sky Suite to a Royal Suite was $2,000 per person A successful bid from a Sunset Veranda to a Edge Villa was $4500 per person. The program is generating revenue, no reason to give away what you can sell.
kevanmia Posted June 23, 2021 Author #6 Share Posted June 23, 2021 Thanks for the link to that thread! Does anyone know for Captain's Club points, if you get a "reduced rate" upgrade through this program, do you earn the points from the category you originally booked, or do you earn the points for the stateroom sailed? jelayne Posted June 23, 2021 #7 Share Posted June 23, 2021 (edited) You get the points for the cabin you booked, not the Move Up cabin. You keep the booking perks you have and do not get the perks of the new cabin. So if you have the AI and move to a suite you don’t get the Premium Beverage package, stream wi-fi or OBC. You do get the amenities of the new cabin, so for a Suite your dining room is Luminae, you have access to the Retreat Lounge and Sundeck.
