Bella0714 Posted June 23, 2021 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2021 I can't believe that's their big announcement that they've been leading up to: a Galapagos cruise on a ship that's too big for the area, only goes to one of the best islands and only spends five days touring the islands. I'm surprised they're bothering considering the tens and tens of better options in the Galapagos. What Hurtigruten is offering isn't even as good as Celebrity. Disappointing.
donaldsc Posted June 28, 2021 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2021 It has been a few years since we did the Galapagos but then, you could and we booked w Metropolitan directly. It was a good cruise but the deal that Hurtigrutin has w Metropolitan is basically that they are acting as an intermediary booking agent to get w Metropolitan. I don't see the big deal. Having done the Galapagos on a 14 person Catamaran, which is the usual way most cruise the Galapagos, 90 person is way too big. the Galapagos was one of my favorite vacations, having done both land and cruise.
