Been to St-Pierre on a Holland American cruise. A really neat place that is totally French in every way.

We traveled to St-Pierre from Montréal one-way on a CTMA cruise, and then returned to Canada on the ferry to Fortune, Newfoundland. Unique, indeed. And an example of why a broad immigration rule needs to be sufficiently flexible to address unique or unusual circumstances that the rule drafters might not have considered at the time of adoption.

I know that we are not supposed to criticize the appearance of a post and your post was very interesting.  However, it would have been much easier to read and more people would read it if you used paragraphs.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just got back from my first land based tour of Alaska.  Previously, I've done about 5 cruises, mostly from Seward to Vancouver.   The land tour was 12 days, starting in Fairbanks.  14 tour mates (all fully vaccinated).

Then to:

1.  Denali (Kantishna Roadhouse - 92 miles into the Park)  2 nights

2.  Talkeetna 1 night

3.  Alyeska Resort 2 nights

4.  Fox Island (out of Seward) 2 nights

5.  Anchorage 1 night.  (to catch next day flight to King Salmon)

6.  King Salmon 2 nights (with daily float planes to Brooks Falls.)

7.  Anchorage 1 night

Totally different experience than a cruise.  Also, much more expensive.

What resources would you use to plan a land trip in the Anchorage, Seward, Homer area?
Bonus points if you have links to share!

The library.  WEB sites.  We did a 3+ month driving trip in AK and did all the planning ourselves.  Worked out pretty well and we did not make too many really dumb choices.
