Sorry had to respond, never ever had to wait, straight out of luggage collection with porter, across the road to key shed and into car. max 5 minutes.on all 11 cruises! Hello Avril  above ground but in a different world!

No, I'm talking about the wait to check the car in, not collect the car.. Quite common to see 50+ cars waiting to be checked in by CPS, especially when embarkation begins.

I was referring to embarkation not disembarkation.

Thanks for the info maybe I should check out both companies before I book again do they offer any discounts for multiple bookings

After the first time of using P4C you automatically get 5% discount off the prices shown on their website. on longer cruises of more than 7 days P4C can be considerably cheaper than CPS.

We must have been lucky then because we’ve never seen that and we must have used CPS about 20 times.

What time did you arrive at the terminal?

Varied but mostly in time for a late lunch. Later on a few occasions  when accompanied by family. We’ve always driven in and never had to wait more than 5 mins.

Which terminal, and which ship was this/these.

Ocean is the main problem where they use part of the short stay car park for the overflow, but even Mayflower can have long queues if it's one of the bigger ships that's in dock.

I think that because you arrived after the initial rush, you will have missed the queues that John and I have experienced.

All terminals on Queen Mary, Britannia, Oceana, Aurora, Ventura, Azura etc. We possibly have missed the queues after the initial rush but it’s always been very quick. Through the gate, waved through, no waiting,. Sounds as if the initial rush is just that, a rush and as we’re never in a rush, then we’ve probably missed the waiting.

How long do you have to wait in line at mayflower cruise terminal for your test. Is it quite quick or lots of queues. Asking because going weekend (regal princess, can't ask there as it is 1st cruise for princess seacations.) Have an arrival time of 11.45-1215 to get to ocean terminal so don't want to get to mayflower too early as don't want to hang around.😁

We waited in the queue for about 30 mins and our results came 10 mins later as we were driving to the ocean terminal

We had a boarding time of 1:15pm . Got to the test centre around 12:45pm and only had a 5 minute wait in the queue. Very efficient.

On our last pre Covid cruise we waited in a queue at Ocean terminal for the best part of an hour until CPS came and photographed the car and took it away. Last week we waited at Mayflower for about 20mins to get the test done and only about 5 mins at Ocean terminal for CPS. We waited about an hour in the shed for the test to come through. We had to wait until the Lady with the iPad told us we had passed. They couldn't text the result as P&O didn't have our mobile numbers. Strange that as they had sent us both texts that morning. It all seemed a bit chaotic at Ocean terminal. We had printed everything, but still had to go through the health questionnaire again. Once on board, straight to our muster station, Brodies, then to the Cabin where the case had already arrived, watch the safety video in the cabin, then up on deck to sit in the sun. Total time from Mayflower to the deck was about 2 hours.

Hi, just reading about CPS having problems with queues if you hit it at the wrong time. What time is typically the wrong time? We have 11.45am boarding and because of the longish journey we typically arrive at the port by 10.30 if we haven’t had any traffic delays. When using P4C that was no problem and in fact on our last Iona cruise we were sat in the waiting room by 10.50 all checked in and they started boarding earlier than expected. Out of interest if they make us park in the short stay car park because we have arrived to early or there is a queue do we need to worry about the short stay parking charge or do CPS handle that?
