Rare Roz Posted February 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I was just over at the HAL website and clicked on a Deep Southern Caribbean itinerary on the Amsterdam, leaving Ft. Lauderdale on Jan. 2, 2007. The itinerary shows the ship leaving Ft. Lauderdale, doing all sea days, and then returning to Ft. Lauderdale 10 days later. How bizarre! This can't possibly be right. Anyone care to shed some light on this? Roz
FlorenceItaly Posted February 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I went to one of my favorite, on-line sites and it is showing the same thing... Are you going to call HAL? If so, please let us know what you find out. Marie
Druke I Posted February 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2006 That might be one way to get some of us on a Caribbean itinerary! Love sea days, but wild about some of those islands.
NORTHSHOREPAIR Posted February 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I had that problem yesterday in trying to view a different cruise destination for 2007. I emailed HAL and when they emailed me back they included a link that took me to the cruise and showed the ports. It may just be a problem with the way they are working on their web site. eldercruser Posted February 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Just talked to Seattle from the Zaandam (no cruise consultant on board!). Most of the 2007 itineraries are yet to be loaded. the HAL agent could not help me with any specifics on European 2007 cruises.
KAKcruiser Posted February 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2006 They just don't have all the information loaded yet. The deep Southern Caribbean cruise goes to St. Maarten, Guadeloupe, Grenada, Trinidad, Barbados, Dominica, St. Thomas and Half Moon Key.
fllcruiser Posted February 16, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I have a 2007 cruise planner. Itinerary for Amsterdam Jan 2 2007 is as follows. Ft. Lauderdale Sea day Sea day Philipsburg, St. Maarteen Pointe a Pitre, Guadeloupe St. Gerges, Grenada Port of Spain, Trinidad Bridgetown, Barbados Roseau, Dominica St. Thomas Sea day Half Moon Cay Ft. Lauderdale Nice itinerary, I am debating on this one or the Veendam 14 day out of Tampa.
kryos Posted February 16, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Nice itinerary, I am debating on this one or the Veendam 14 day out of Tampa. Ummmm, this one is very, very tempting ... and very doable for 2007. Anyone else thinking of doing this one? Blue skies ... --rita
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 16, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Sounds like a great itinerary!!
HeatherInFlorida Posted February 16, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Darn it! I was getting all excited about an all sea days itinerary! I would have booked that in a heartbeat. This does look nice, but too close to our November Volendam cruise.
Rare Roz Posted February 16, 2006 Author #11 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Fllcruiser, Thanks bunches for posting that itinerary - wow! There are really some intriguing ports. Roz
Bodger Posted February 16, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I have a 2007 cruise planner. I have a HAL Caribbean book April 2005-April 2007 that indicates a different itinerary, FLL, HMC, at sea, Aruba, Curacao, at sea, Panama Canal into Gatun Lake and out again, Costa Rica, two sea days and back to FLL in ten days. Maybe the itinerary is in a state of flux. Bodger
KAKcruiser Posted February 17, 2006 #13 Share Posted February 17, 2006 They changed the Amsterdam itineraries for 2007. This is just one cruise before she is scheduled to do the world cruise. The Volendam will take over the Amsterdam itinerary to the Panama Canal. The Maasdam will take over the Volendam itinerary in the Caribbean. fllcruiser Posted February 17, 2006 #14 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Bodger, I beleive the itineray I listed is correct. The Amsterdam is doing this one time sailing and then it will be doing the Grand World Voyage on 15 Jan 2007. The Volendam will do the 10 day itinerary you listed. The back of my cruise planner shows effective date of January 2006, the Caribbean brochure April 2005-April 2007 show effective date of March 2005.
