I was not dissing or making fun of anyone.  I simply stated that there were Paxs that were/are very cautious vis  a vis the masks.  Hey, I wore one at the semi-enclosed eating place near Harbor Beach.  One of the few.

Since it was the 2nd Formal night, my long sleeve shirt was hiding the green band.  One of the staffer checking me in for room # etc., asked to see the band.  I made a remark, that since this cruise is 100% vaxxed adult why the emphasis on the bands.  As mentioned previously, I was stopped previously, 3 separate times entering the casino.  This staffer mentioned that no this cruise is not exactly 100% vaxxed as there are 2 adults Paxs on board that are non-vaxxed, therefore checking for the bands.

 

Not a big deal, but,

 

Why were 2 non-vaxxed adults allowed on? I don't expect an answer - just sayin ....

I have zero intention of wearing a mask in a vaccinated only area. I wouldn't wear one period if we weren't forced to.

9/12-9/19 Oasis's second voyage Breezy Bay at Chill Island (beach) was good but be aware that there are stingrays that swim by you along with fish that are just as curious about you being in their habitant. The beach itself has many clumps of seaweed in a lot of places now. They have people raking seaweed that washes up and bag it. The Oasis Lagoon fresh water pool seemed to be the biggest draw along with the swim-up bar as its known. (there's no swimming necessary to reach it) South Beach does have a real small swim-up bar that you'll need to do just that if you'd like to order a drink from there. I don't think you need to spend a lot of money for extras when there's plenty of places to go otherwise. Coco-Cay was a highlight of the cruise while once again Nassau was a stay on board day. Again, this past week we were told that every place was closed due to the elections taking place. This is what was said two weeks ago also. If anyone considers taking the Kennedy Space Center Tour, it was a decent tour with a lot of good things to take in. We were lucky to have a really good guide who's ambition was to be as close to being an astronaut without being one.

On the ship everyplace indoors, masks were required, then removed at the table.....(doesn't make a lot of sense does it) On Coco-Cay when getting your food, no.

thanks for the great info. i def would prefer not so many things in the water so ill have to explore. i only ever go knee or waist deep anyway. do the stingrays go that shallow? 

 

my gf has never been in nassau so even to walk around a ghost town would be neat for a few minutes, plus need the exercise walking off the pier 

 

regarding KSC did they stay open late for you? i went on a tour a few years ago that was waaaaayyy too short. very disappointing. gotta fly back and stay 2 days there.

Well luckyinpa you only have to go out to knee deep water to see the stingray's..they aren't trying to sting you but want you to know you're in THEIR habitat. The fish that seemed to want to be friendly was at least 18" in length.

The walk around Nassau just to get some exercise would be just that, there's no places open for drinks. Its like a Holiday.

The KSC tour was about 4 hours total from the bus ride from the ship to when we got dropped off CLOSE TO the pier. The KSC closes at 5:00pm. There were four buses from the ship.

I might be able to answer that. For the second voyage we had to have a negative test 3 days prior to the embarkation. (so we had it done at CVS on a Thursday. Got results friday night. Embarkation asked to see our vax and test results to document that. Then they gave us a blue wrist ban to keep on all through the voyage. We didn't see anyone being sent for the Covid test but know that has been changed to two days before the cruise. Oh well, hope it doesn't put everything backwards again.

Gotcha.  Thanks.  We're fully vaxed.  Hubby got his third dose two weeks ago and I, as a nurse, will be eligible for a boost soon.  I've heard nightmare stories of people getting their negative test 48-72 hours prior to a cruise, only to test positive at the port of embarkation.  I think that is happening in Europe.  We're booked on a B2B Transatlantic next October starting in Italy, and that is my biggest fear.

Like how "things have been" everywhere on land if the State is applicable  .....RCI wants their guests to walk into the various dining establishments with your mask on. Once you've arrived at your table it can be removed, when you go up for your food selections, putting it back on is not required. When at Chops, Giovanni's and other restaurants the same applies, once you're at your table you can remove it. You'll notice every crew member will be wearing their mask all the time, no exceptions.
