The ships come together or something? Celebrating Carnival's 50th birthday, they are having scheduled ship meet-ups at sea. Site only lists 2 so far, by Brisbane, Australia and Baja, Mexico. The pictures show 4 ships converging, but these only feature 2 ships. Night time entertainment, bringing back old favorites like the Gala Midnight buffet, complete with fancy carvings. Dinner selections from days gone past, cherries jubilee, duck l'orange and the wait staff shows we all secretly love. Should be some announced later with so many ships sailing to the Bahamas and Carribbean.

We are booked on the Mardi Gras for the Sailabration and so excited to experience a journeys type cruise experience and meet all the beards and celebrities. I always enjoy seeing other ships at sea. Our Alaska cruise on Legend (2016) we saw Celebrity sail past each way on the Inside Passage. I always close the casino so the return of the Midnight Buffet will be welcome.
Moviela Posted September 6, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2021 I couldn't help myself, so I am paid up on Panorama for the party. I think it will be interesting and fun. Table cloths and lobster every night? Mint on the pillow? Punchliner doing Rickles and Dangerfield? Live music in the showroom? 50th swag bag? Mickey and Heald doing Benny Hill skits? Big screen 1972 hits on deck: Godfather, Conquest of Planet of the Apes, and Deliverance with Burt & Banjo's, makes you go Hmmm? Will there be a loudest horn blow off? One can only dream. Perhaps fireworks on a barge to light the sky?

Maybe water cannons to fill each other's Lido pools?

CruisingViper Posted December 14, 2021 #9 Share Posted December 14, 2021 I'm looking at booking this one in the Caribbean so I'd be very interested in what all else they have in store. Will they bring back those ephemeral table cloths the veterans cruisers have always complained about?

2Shoes2Go Posted December 15, 2021 #12 Share Posted December 15, 2021 On Pride for the Sailabration. Expect there will be Gala Midnight Buffet with ice carvings, throwback horse races, menus from the past, and other events. Much like a Journeys Cruise.Last one we were on, Food Manager shared that $35,000 was spent on the Gala Buffet with only approx 20% consumed! But, not certain it will be the same now. Hopefully, less waste.

If you do a search on Youtube, you'll find several videos posted of past midnight buffets that will give you some idea of what one is like.
