Ordering a bottle of liquor

Recommended Posts

Could anyone tell me if you able to order a bottle of liquor onboard.

I'm not talking about duty free, but something to be delivered to the stateroom so you can have a drink in your room or on the balcony.

On HAL you can order in advance on the planner and it is in the room when you board together with mixers. I have looked but can only find wine & cheese platters and champagne & strawberries. I was thinking something more like Jack Daniels or Courvoisier Brandy and some coke mixers.

It was available pre-COVID, but only on a few ships. I seem to recall a limited selection of 375ml bottles. You could check again once on board.

Different ships have different availability.

Look here to see if your ship and preferred booze is on the list:

Wow! Thanks! I didn't know this was available. Do you have any idea if they will  switch mixers? I wouldn't mind having the bottle of Absolut but I drink it with club soda or sparkling water, rather than Sprite. TIA

I have zero experience with ordering this.  I think that the price is a rip-off, but some people apparently like the idea.

Just keep in mind those are 1/2 bottles (375ml) at those prices 😳

I've smuggled my share of alcohol prior to the booze package - don't want to buy it for the 4 nights though and being a newbie (only one prior cruise) on Royal don't want to be in their bad graces. So I'll take a couple bottles of wine and bite the bullet and buy the 750 ml bottle. I know it's pricey but will give me more than enough drinks for the length of the cruise - and it'll save me more than a couple hundred over the beverage package. I get free drinks in the casino but we don't leave port until 7 and are in Nassau until 9 p.m so casino won't be open until late 2 of the days 😞 .

You may be able to swap them at a bar.
