:D I just the love the relaxing feel of this cruiseline compared to some others that try and "make it fun". Now I won't be able to sleep until I cruise. Thanks for the upbeat post. Oh, and another thumbs up for the chocolate cruisant. Lucky for me I did not discover them until the end of our last cruise.

I will be looking for them this time!

I keep coming back to this thread to re-read peoples positive

points:)

Thanks again for starting it.

More about what is good? For me, it is all good. So the salads are not

detailed enough for some folks. Well for me, I get a choice of at least

3 salads a night...my waiter ALWAYS says I can have a ceaser if

nothing else appeals to me;) (and aren't there normally 2 or 3

other choices?).

Oh remember the Celebrity dressing?:D Yummy!

What else is good? Oh man, it would take a lot to write about it

all!

For me.....it is all good:)

If you get up in the morning and put a smile on your face:) , thinking how lucky you are to be on the ocean.. .. HOW can you have a dissappointing time!!:D

I love Celebrity's beautiful ships.

I love the wonderful service on Celebrity.

I love the delicious food on Celebrity.

I love the way I feel so relaxed on Celebrity.

I love sitting on the top aft deck late at night, watching the wake, looking at the stars, and enjoying my husband's company.

I love back to backs on Celebrity!

What a fantastic thread. I love reading all the positive things people say about their experiences. After working so hard to enjoy a nice vacation, it amazes me that so many people gripe about their experience. I love everything about the cruise experience and I can't wait for my first X cruise to Bermuda in May. We make a photo album and put each days program in it along with the photos and other memorabillia. Then we can relive the experience whenever the spirit moves us. We have met so many wonderful people all over the world and keep in contact with many of them. :)

Keep up the positive thoughts

Can't wait to post my favorite X experience

I am a new member to Cruise Critic and had to say what a nice thread this is! My wife Theresa and I are reading all the wonderful post about being on an X cruise. We are looking forward to our first cruise on Celebrity on the Infinity, at the end of April. Thanks for telling us about your favorite things on a Celebrity cruise! Bob

Ah what a great thread, I love it- some people may think they D. Ward and are looking under every carpet they find, if there is something to negativ to discover..... complaining complaining....

All the great things about a X Cruise are allready written, but

sitting in Cova Cafe, listening the classic live music.... while reading a book..... looking out to see the ocean..... maybe to feel that you are on board a ship--- just a little of course....! Ah can´t wait to be there...!

Greetings

Michael

Here's one I haven't seen mentioned - the Fitness Center on the Summit. It's located in the front of the ship with huge windows, instead of being located in some basement hideaway. Good machines, not crowded and a great changing/shower/locker room area. Best treadmill time was during the Inside Passage southbound on our Alaska trip last year.

  • 1 month later...

:D :) I remember when dmk started this.....it was (IS) an

uplifting thread.

It got lost a few pages back...acutally it hasn't been posted on in

over a month!

I am looking soooo forward to sailing in 2 weeks and experiencing

all the wonderful X touches again:D Bubbly upon boarding,

seeing friendly faces (hopefully some I know from my Feb cruise;) ),

having a wonderful drink in Zenith's Martini Bar...and meeting

my new friends from our Roll Call too!

Lois, I'm jealous:D . Which ship are you sailing on in 2 wks time?

What I enjoy about Celebrity:

1. The champagne on embarkation day - or any other day!

2. The added personal touches like being taken to your stateroom, instead of some cruise lines where you have to find it yourself.

3. The friendliness of the crew staff.

What I am looking forward to on our Galaxy cruise next February:

1. The champagne on embarkation day - or any other day!

2. The Martini Bar - I'm just experiencing the wonderous "fruity" martini's - my fave so far is a raspberry martini.:) :D

3. Sailing on the Galaxy - I love this ship - it's so elegant.

4. The wonderful chocolate they leave on your pillow each night.

5. Meeting others who enjoy cruising as much as we do.

I read all the way through this thread and I am so glad to say it did not veer off to the negatives as so many threads do. Those who posted here LOVE X and that is the simple fact.

Did anyone mention Trivia/Scattagories/Win Lose or Draw/etc?

And the inane, but hilarious, Newlywed/Not So Newlywed game?

the creme caroline soup is the best IMHO.

I'll be on Millie in 3 weeks and 1 day - I'm thinking about the waffles, the french toast on the CC room service menu on the Verandah when it's just getting light and still quiet, anything in the Spa Cafe - especiallly the desserts!, having the room steward know to always have the ice bucket filled, sitting on the verandah with a good book and watch the world go by! a cup of herbal tea before I go to bed, days filled with sunshine, great people and beautiful sights. I can't wait - I also love the anticpation and traveling with first time cruisers to see what they think!!

I just got back from my cruise to Hawaii and must say that it is lovely to see that there are more positives to add to the thread.

Thanks Lois for digging it up.

I'd like to add Bananas Foster to my list. We told the ass't Maitre D that we loved it so much we could eat every nite. Well didn't she have it ready for the next 4 days of our cruise. Thoughtful.

Hi dmk:) welcome back and how was your Hawaii Cruise? Sounds

like you had a good Maitr'd;) You said "She"...did she happen to

be Ruby from South Africa?:D

She was our Maitr'd on Constellation back in Dec 2004. She was fabulous.

A couple of the wait staff were ill (I remember..because Ruby had to help serve)

and she was just wonderful:)

From our recent Summit cruise:

Hats off to::D

Santano, our excellent attentive cabin attendant.

Fatih, our waiter who is now enjoying a well deserved 3 months off.

Danuta, our amazing Asst Maitre D who thoroughly enjoyed her job and had Escargots, Shrimp Cocktail, Creme Brulee, and Bananas Foster at the ready, every meal.

"Happy, Happy", the security guard who said Aloha to every passenger getting off or on the ship, with a huge smile on his face.

Sol, the Dining Room Greeter, full of jokes and smiles.

In fact, three cheers to all the crew and staff on board the Summit. They were the most genuinely friendly and accomadating group we have ever met before.

LOIS:

As you can see our M'aitre D was Danuta. It is interesting that you also had a female Maitre D. I don't think their are many on Celebrity. Have a great cruise!!

I love the beautiful scents that seem to permiate the very walls of the Spa. Doesn't matter which X ship you're sailing, the spas all smell heavenly.

And, of course, the service. It's the best, IMO.

Terri....who's doing a 5 day RCL to Cozumel in 18 days! It won't be X exactly, but it'll do in a pinch.
