What Happened to Captain Serena?

Serena Melani was supposed to be the Captain of the Splendor.  When the ship started cruising again this week they have a different captain.  Does anyone know what happened?

Although I cannot answer your question, we love her and hope that she will be onboard the Explorer on 31 Oct.  She is a wonderful person and great human being.

Each ship has two designated Captains, who alternate.

Approx 10 weeks on/10 weeks off, I think.

Presumably Captain Serena is on leave.

We were told she is on leave and will return to either Splendor or Explorer later this month or in October.

October makes sense for the next changeover.

Splendor will be in Italy and Explorer makes her restart in Italy also.
