luckyinpa Posted September 12, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2021 i think my TA said on day one they let royal know about the OBC and it pops on my account that nite. however it works, is there any way to reserve something now then replace it with that OBC once on board. for instance, i'm guessing some things like beds/cabanas on cococay are limited in their number and you need to book before you cruise. or maybe not? im on oasis next month but would love to use some of the OBC for perhaps a bed. and it would help use up my obc. poocher Posted September 12, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2021 Have you prepaid your gratuities? I don’t know how big an OBC you are expecting but using it for daily gratuities would be an idea.

micruiser2002 Posted September 12, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2021 Just be careful because if you book it prior and it is on sale not sure if they will honor the sale price to rebook it with the OBC.
luckyinpa Posted September 12, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted September 12, 2021 i did see some things 10 percent off in the planner. do they hold back some specialty dining reservations for on board purchase the 1st day. i guess could buy a few day plan. im new to royal so could be an adventure. wouldnt do the ultimate pack because then id feel like i'm obligated to pig out lol. also i get free internet with the suite so cant spend money there. but in general am i correct that even though my credit card is on my account that it will eat up OBC first as the week goes on then actually charge the card? Another_Critic Posted September 12, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2021 Your OBC should show in the Cruise Planner, which can be used on Planner purchases.

I don't think this is necessarily true when the OBC is from your travel agent.

luckyinpa Posted September 12, 2021 Author #11 Share Posted September 12, 2021 he did specifically say something, i forget the exact thing but i think he said he calls 1st day of the cruise and it's treated like a gift. so maybe not on my account until day 2. i wish he was doing it his old way but i know it wasnt proper, he would actually discount the cruise price and that was very suite.i mean sweet. Yeah, I don't get my TA OBC until day 2 or so, the only OBC I can use pre cruise in the planner is price drop OBC
Sunshine3601 Posted September 12, 2021 #13 Share Posted September 12, 2021 I would just wait till you are onboard then book whatever you want when your OBC is available. No point in booking ahead as you would lose the pre cruise price once you board the ship as they would cancel it then rebook at the onboard price. You can use your OBC onboard for anything such as tips, beverages, shopping, spa treatments, internet, speciality dining and excursions.
luckyinpa Posted September 13, 2021 Author #14 Share Posted September 13, 2021 can i assume the soda pack at 9 bucks is pretty much not gonna ever be on sale. do they have tables on board near the entrances to buy the drink packs like on other ships? also any ideas if in the suite lounge i can hoard a few bottles of water instead of buying the case? do you have to order cases only before you board? i know one ship i was on , it wasnt available to buy once on board. Sunshine3601 Posted September 13, 2021 #15 Share Posted September 13, 2021 I dont know about soda packages as we dont drink soda but yes you should be able to get bottled water in suite lounge. If not you can buy bottled water at any bar or you can order thru room service menu that will be in your cabin. I think room service sells 6 packs of evian water. You can also bring up to a 12 pack of bottled water as part of carry on luggage. You can also bring 2 bottles of wine per cabin. We like to do this so we have a bottle on our cabin to enjoy on our balcony.
kruzerci Posted September 13, 2021 #16 Share Posted September 13, 2021 Go to the casino, put your card in a slot machine, do a room charge for the amount you want to withdraw, cash out, bring your ticket to the cashier and get the cash. Bring that home, pay your credit card with it. That way you get to use all the OBC and take advantage of the online cruise planner prices.
