Yes they can. They are the same test.

In one of the replies someone stated that you create their accounts in the NAVICA App...I don't have a smart phone and have an I pad....does this still work if you can't get the app????

You should be able to DL the app from the apple store. Your Ipad will have a front facing camera and a mic.  It should work just fine
