kaykels Posted September 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2021 My arrival time is listed as 2:45. That seems super late. On other cruise lines I just showed up early she nobody paid any attention to the suggested arrival time. But with Covid tests and the crazy world we live in now, are these times strict ? For a short cruise we lose most of the first day. I’m used to boarding around 12 pm.
britincanada Posted September 22, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2021 Boarding doesn't start until 2pm on Virgin, it's a slightly later boarding time as disembarkation is later than other cruise lines.
CroozFanatic Posted September 22, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 22, 2021 Interestingly, there is a place to select a disembarkation time in the app. It is listed as an excursion for Miami.
Rare 1025cruise Posted September 22, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 22, 2021 Just a note that right now, most of the other cruise lines are enforcing their arrival times. If you arrive early, you wait.

This. On the UK sailings this summer, everyone had to be off by 10.30am and you were welcome to stay in your cabin until then. You were supposed to book a disembarkation slot but AFAIK they weren’t being enforced.

Thanks for this information... I was wondering where I could find that. I went ahead and chose the latest time, since I have a later flight... I'm going to try and be among the very last off the ship... Most cruise lines are actually boarding by 10:

podjo Posted October 6, 2021 #9 Share Posted October 6, 2021 My cruise from Miami in February has a return time at 6:30 AM. Wondering if I could make a flight at 11:55 AM?
drewdawg199 Posted October 6, 2021 #10 Share Posted October 6, 2021 the VV website says they recommend not scheduling a flight out of MIA prior to noon.

If you're flying within the US and don't need a Covid test to board your flight, you're probably fine if you disembark as early as possible as the airport isn't that far of a drive from the pier. If you need a Covid test to get home, hell no. Even if you can get one at a place that says they can do fast results depending on the type of test you need, that's cutting it way too close for my liking. What if the ship docks late? What if there's traffic?
NameThatFunnel Posted October 8, 2021 #12 Share Posted October 8, 2021 For those with upcoming cruises, on the Virgin Voyages website it states "The testing will occur at the terminal and will be provided free of charge by Virgin Voyages, so Sailors will need to arrive 1 hour prior to their scheduled embarkation time to ensure time for the test.
