Passport Renewal, 34 Days.

Hello All,

If anyone was wondering how long to get your passport renewed, It was 34 days for my wife.

We mailed it out on August 28 and received the passport on October 1.

We did not put a rush on it. Just standard service.

I think they're working through the backlog and the wait time is getting better. It took 4 months for us to renew this summer.

If the Debt Ceiling isn't approved and the government shuts down, there will be longer wait times again.

5 weeks and we did expedited mid July.  They had just changed the expected time to 12 weeks for expedited.  I’m thankful it was much quicker than that.

You are very lucky I mail ours on June 25 and got then back on September 29.

Ours were mailed mid August and arrived last week.

We submitted our renewals in June and our children’s’ application for their first. We got the kid’s in august. We still haven’t received ours.

Maybe, maybe not.  If the passport approval process is fully funded by the fees paid, they may be able to operate.  And in some cases certain "essential employees" would still be required to work.

3 weeks!! Mailed my passport on Oct. 13 (priority). They received it on the 15th, got it back today.

Did not expedite or have them mail it back priority.

Good news! I just checked on my renewal, it was received on September 28 and is still in process with a 14 week estimate. It expired last February so it might take longer than one that has not expired prior to renewal.

My wife had about the same turnaround. I want to say she mailed her in Mid August and got it the 2nd week of sept.

Renewed my husbands as he is traveling the end of December and was worried.   I did expedited and we had it in about 2 weeks maybe 3 at the longest.   We also completed the renewal app online printed it with the bar code.    He received Passport first, passport card second, still waiting for return of old passport.

 

My grandson who is 4 years old had to be handled differently.   His Mom & Dad had to bring him to the PO with all documentation.   She expedited the service and the online status now shows approved in about 3 weeks.   Waiting for the passport itself and it states we should have it tomorrow.    

 

I also paid an additional charge for overnight mailing if I recall correct. 

 

Well worth it.

May be the exception though.  Saw a bulletin this week that said to allow 14 weeks for passport renewals. Wait time may also vary by regional offices?

My passport expires 10/22 but since I have nothing planned for the immediate future, I'm going to renew now.  No worries on how long it will take and I'll be good for another ten years.
