Fog City Diner across the street from the pier used to have great food. It seems it has changed so not sure what the food is like now. brisalta Posted October 23, 2021 #53 Share Posted October 23, 2021 Has anyone discovered more information about what work was performed on the Ruby Princess while it was in dry dock?

I’ve heard that they did the usual stuff on the hull since it was out of the water. I been told by someone, an engineer experienced with large ships, that they probably checked the screws since it’s very expensive to take any ship into dry dock. Not sure if they did anything inside as it was a short dry dock. They are on sea trials now & they went down to LA & it’s now off of Ensenada. Tom😀 One thing I did hear about in advance of the dry dock was that the HVAC systems were going to be upgraded. That may explain going down to Ensenada where it is still hot and humid.

Rare trbarton Posted October 28, 2021 #59 Share Posted October 28, 2021 Enjoy my photos taken of the Ruby as she was arriving in San Francisco. It’s the 1st cruise since the Pandemic from San Francisco. It was sticking its head out like saying “Hello”. It’s my 1st time to see a cruise ship arriving. I’ve enclosed a photo of a couple that invited me to join them. It’s arrived early to get ready for our cruise with supplies etc. I met some people from Corporate, one gentleman from the beverage department, & we talked for a little bit. I mentioned that this will be a test cruise since the Ruby has never been a medallion cruise so people have to be patient as some things might not work like they expected. I enjoyed watching the ship come in & documenting the arrival. It’s docked it the Cruise Terminal, pier 27, if you want to take a look. Enjoy my photos.
