After Disembarkation options?

My husband had a great idea for killing the 8 hours we have between getting off our ship and getting on out flight...  we just dont know if its allowed.   Can you go to the airport, check in your luggage, then leave the airport and come back later?

The last time we cruised we were out of Miami and did an excursion to kill time.  This time, however, we are leaving out of New Orleans, and they dont offer any such excursions.  Yes, we really are very new to this jet setting life style, but we REALLY are enjoying it!!  Any insight or time killing suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

most airports will not allow you to check bags more than 4 hours early. Pretty sure there are at least a few tours from the ship in NOLA to the airport after.

Hi

Generally the answer is, No.

Your best bet depends on what you intend to do with your time. I imagine your main concern is with putting your luggage somewhere safe for a number of hours until you are ready to finally get ready for your flight. If you do an internet search I am sure you will find some business that will do just that. One other popular option is to rent a car for the day.

hope that helps

have a great cruise
