I was recently on Carnival Magic and played Deal or No Deal. Was lots of fun! What other carnival ships is this on? I'm sailing on Mardi Gras next week and I see they don't have it, instead they have Family Fued.

It was listed in the Mardi Gras Fun Times that Saint Greg posted in his trip report.

I'm guessing they will have it on all ships soon.  Doesn't take a lot to put together and like bingo, it's a huge money maker for Carnival.  On our recent cruise we went to just watch.  The cards were selling for $25 for one and $40 for two.  Looking around the theater it looked like they sold several hundred cards.  There were two contestants on the stage.  The first won less than $1.  The second contestant won around $100.  Others in the audience won about $200-300 combined.  Most of those were things like bingo packages where it basically costs Carnival nothing extra.

They also scheduled no other real entertainment that night (no comedy, stage shows, or main band) so there was really nothing else to do.  Carnival knows what they are doing in those.  Bingo and the new Deal or No Deal are money making ventures for Carnival.

Just off Horizon yesterday.  Deal or No Deal was scheduled but cancelled last minute due to some unspecified technical problem.  They had already sold the cards and had to refund the money.  I only showed up to watch.

Just curious since I never watched it on TV. How did this game work on the ship and what are the cards that were selling for $25 for one and $40 for two for? Was it a number and everyone that had that number won what was  matched up for that number on the screen? Thanks!

The cards that you buy have the peel-back case numbers on them (1-20 IIRC). When the person on stage selects a case # to open, the audience also opens (peels back) that same number on their card. Prizes are based on how many matches you get. On the Vista in July, the prizes were money, bingo cards, wifi pkgs, drink pkgs, etc

There is a serial number at the bottom of ea card, that is how the contestant that gets to go on stage is selected.

We did it on the pride week of 10.3. First time offered. Our cards were 40.00 for 2.  We won 2 bingo free play..sheet of 3 cards for each game in the session attended. Also won 30.00 casino cash which on the pride they redeem in cash at the attendent desk. It was a lot of fun and hope they have it on the legend on our 12.5 sailing.
