Question about Cheers!

My daughter and I are on the Magic leaving November 14. She is 23, but has some significant intellectual disabilities. She doesn't drink alcohol at all, or coffee, or soda (doesn't like any of them!). She'll be perfectly happy with the lemonade and iced tea.

I would love to take advantage of the Cheers program. If I sign up ahead of time, they will automatically charge me for both of us. Does anyone have any experience buying it for just one person in the cabin once on board?

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately it's all or nothing for everyone in your cabin.  If nothing else you can take what you'd have spent on cheers and just buy a drink every now and then that suits your fancy.

Also, check on Carnival's website to see if they have a deal on cheers for your cruise.  If so there's a possibility you could get your rate code changed to include the cheers package..... I was able to do that for an upcoming cruise at no additional cost.

The deal on Cheers would not be for your cruise, it would be for you and it would be in your offers box.   It would be RU1, RU2 or RU3 or maybe RX1.

Another idea is to price out both of you buying the Bottomless Bubbles then figuring out how many alcoholic drinks you will purchase.

Alot of times it's way cheaper to buy the drinks individually.

A bunch of website actually calculate it out for you.

Another option is to reach out to the special needs department of Carnival. Perhaps your request can be met by going through them.

Susan,

Check out this review. She had a similar situation to yours that worked out favorably.

Thank you so much for looking this up for me!!

I'm going to look into this - if it doesn't work, and least I tried!

Well, we were given an exception a few weeks ago, so it's definitely worth asking!

To be fair, your situation is different because you already had a free drink package in the casino. Carnival would be less concerned that you are trying to cheat the system (not saying the OP is doing that AT ALL, but that is where the issue really comes from).

Unfortunately you can't do it for just one - it has to be all parties over 21 in the cabin.

Sorry!

In my opinion, travelling with a party younger than 21 does not sound fun at al =D Especially if you plan a drinking vacation or casino nights. Its better to have a party suitable for all of this entertainment
