Carnival laundry costs

We have booked several Carnival cruises after getting great prices. We just got off the Panorama and had one bag of laundry done (free for suites). It was pretty awful. Didn’t smell clean and poor folding resulted in lots of wrinkles.

Has anyone had better luck with a laundry and press option or something similar? If so, what kind of costs were involved.

I got very spoiled by Holland’s laundry service.
NO, I don’t want to do it myself - I’m on vacation.

I, too, love the prepaid laundry serice on Holland. The Carnival "stuff the bag" option that is free for platinum or suites and offered as a special for others is just wash and fold service. The folding is not great. I haven't had issues with cleanliness of the laundry, but it is sometimes very badly folded (and once it had been folded while damp.) I have learned to open those bags as soon as I can and to refold as needed.

You can get better service (wash/press/hang or fold) akin to Holland's service, but it is priced on a per item basis with each item costing several dollars. I don't have a copy of the price list. It is on the same form you fill in when you fill the bag for the free service.

We use the free service for sleepwear, socks, undies, and playclothes. The other stuff either does not get washed or is handled with a mid-cruise visit to the laundry room.

I am not sure of the cost, but I am taking Pods and dryer sheets with me. People say doing laundry on vacation is not fun. However, I plan to be in the casino at the craps table. It is only in the smoking casino. I will have to deal with the smoke. However, if I smell it on my clothes later, it will make me vomit. Those clothes will go straight into a bag and on the balcony until I can do a load of laundry.

On four times on Vista I've had laundry done. At first I was hesitant, had heard bad stories about the clothes being washed in hot water, items getting lost, etc. The first time, and every time since, has been a great experience. Nothing is lost, clothes smell fresh, and the items are folded so nicely they almost look as it they had been ironed. I only started using the laundry service after becoming Platinum so I could have it done for no charge. If you had an unsatisfactory experience with your laundry, I hope you took it down to Guest Services to show them and demand a refund, as well as a bottle of champagne or some other treat! Carnival has always been very receptive to my complaints - and I complain a lot.

"Carnival has always been very receptive to my complaints - and I complain a lot." - I just laughed out loud at this, and I'm delighted that you're as big a fan of the free Platinum / Diamond wash & fold as I am. We've never had issues and send a bag out every day. I love discovering the bag of completed laundry on my bed more than the towel animal. We take advantage of this because it keeps packing to a minimum and is handy if you've pre-gamed your cruise a day or three in advance. we've joked that we'll take the curtains down and stick them in the bag if we need to fill one up. PRO TIP for those who don't get wash and fold for free: to maximize your bag size, first wrap each larger item burrito-style, and then lay them on top of each other in the bag (after you're flattened the bottom of the bag out so it stands upright by itself). Fill any small gaps with socks / smaller unmentionables. we still make sure to leave at least an inch on the top of the bag unfilled but you'll still be shocked at how much it'll hold.

I send out tees, polos, briefs, sox and sometimes shorts, been doing that when I saw the bag special and continuing through platinum and diamond freebies. I just roll up whatever needs to be cleaned towards the end of the cruise, say on the 5th day of a 7 nighter, 6th on an 8, etc.  Lots of stuff can fit.in the paper bag that way.

I do like coming home with a suitcase of mostly clean clothes!  Never an issue with lost or wrinkled items.

Yes, that's one Platinum perk that's still available! Three bags on a 7 day cruise, two bags on 3-6 day, no charge.

We also have used this perk for many years without an issue. Great for sweaty gym clothes and as someone pointed out, getting rid of the smoky smelling clothes if you were in the casino.  We never send special items and if needed a quick hand wash in the sink works. I think they come back folded very nicely sometimes better than i would fold them at home.  This is my favorite platinum perk.

Doing laundry yourself is not an option on every ship - upcoming cruise is on Venezia which does not have self laundry. So we need to make use of the laundry service; hoping for good (at least not bad) results.

On the horizon we made use of the free bag of laundry.

We stuffed it to bursting.

We got 3 bags back the next day (we didn't send it out until late afternoon). Very nicely folded and smelled freshly cleaned. No issues.

When during the cruise do they offer a free bag?  Is it a diamond/platinum offer?  Asking for a 7 day cruise (Glory).

Thanks

We did the 15 day Hawaii cruise. So had to do the bag service. Think it was $10 a bag.  It was ok not the greatest. But was not going to wash my own clothes.  I was on vacation.  No room cleaning, no cooking,no laundry

I'm one of those crazy people who does not mind doing a load or two of laundry. I prefer doing it myself than risk having someone else do it wrong. I am early an early riser so I usually find no one else in the launderette when I arise. If self-service facilities are not offered. I will use the bag option if I absolutely have to, but it is not my preference.
