topaz123 Posted November 15, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Just back from the Horizon cruise. We had a night at the steakhouse and for me ( meat eater) is was beyond fantastic. Wagyu beef steak perfectly cooked, served hot, with choice of salt. Excellent in all counts. We had posted a question about my vegetarian wife having something to eat, and took the advice of a poster to request something special the day before. We dropped by the Steakhouse, explained about a possible Vegetarian offering. and BOOM, our night was made perfect. The chef prepared a TOFU Grilled Steak on a Vege tower of Tomato, Zucchini, and assorted grilled vegetables with savory sauce. It was a work of art,....Chef visited our table and described the prepared dish, and was pleased that we had requested an "off the menu" creation. The absolute gentlemen of gentlemen. Hope this helps those who are in similar situations.....you will not be disappointed.
Tcas1 Posted November 15, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Thank you, that's great to know. I have a cruise in August and was thinking about the Steak House. My daughter is also vegetarian. Sounds like a dream meal for her. With her college graduation I did want to have a special dinner for her. Your post has helped with my decision. Steak House it is.

Aplmac Posted November 15, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Quite a few cruises back there now I had the Indian Veggie thing in the MDR, and it was very good! I'm wondering if that's still around to be had?
kupton Posted November 15, 2021 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2021 My wife is vegan and they prepared her a special meal at the Legend steakhouse. Just talk to the steakhouse host when you first get on the ship and they will take care of you.

nlktx49 Posted November 15, 2021 #8 Share Posted November 15, 2021 One of my sons is a vegetarian and sometimes he has trouble finding something to eat. He was with us once when we were celebrating a special occasion and had gone to a very nice restaurant. No vegetarian meals on the menu. He asked the waiter about it, who asked the chef, and got a wonderful dinner the chef improvised! I think most chefs enjoy a chance to improvise like this. Glad your wife enjoyed her meal, good to know this about the steakhouse.

Featuring an Indian dish each night is a natural fit as they seem to hire the chefs from India.

I too have observed that, and thought the same. Check out this happy kid at the Burrito Bar on Carnival Valor, a few years ago He's from South Asia somewhere..
