Getting FCCs Back in Pieces. Can Someone Explain?

I tried to book a cruise with my FCCs accumulated from cancelled cruises. I was told they could only be used for the cruise fare. When I tried to use as a deposit Royal said I had to put the deposit on my credit card which would be used toward the port charges and taxes. To hold the cabin I complied. Now I am still waiting for 3 more pieces of the FCCs to be applied. The cruise is in September 2022. I have enough to pay for the whole cruise, but as I said RC will only put my credit to the fare. Can someone help me understand this mess? Oh yeah, once I put the deposit on my credit card RC came through with 1 of the FCCs and are "working on" the other 2.

FCC are made only from your cruisefare. Taxes and fees were refunded. Since they are only cruisefare they can only be applied to cruisefare.

 

I'm not sure why you cant say the deposit is cruisefare, though of course later the taxes and fees would still have to be paid on your credit card. But I am sure they can only be applied to cruisefare.

 

I got pieces myself. I had one fcc applied to april 2021 which was only applied like you to cruisefare, so some was left over of original. The cruise got cancelled and the fcc from april 2021 canc cruise issued as a new fcc. I agree it would be simpler to have just one. At least now they are stackable which wasnt always the case.

 

Sounds like you will have to book another cruise to use it all up.
