Day 2

Le Grand Bistro… this is the one restaurant I wish they have French dinner at night and move that le petite chef thing to lunch so I can have another specialty dinner option but that is just me.  I am sure they are people out there that loves le petite chef.

First of all, thank you for all of the posts & especially pictures....they are great!!  We're debating booking the Apex for 2/26.  Can you use OBC in the casino?  And do the slots seem any better or worse than land-based casinos?  Are they doing table games, like 3 card?  I like to gamble 🙂  LOL  Thx!  Kris

Yes you can use your OBC to play slots.  You can even use your OBC on the cruise planner and pre purchase your slot play or table play and get 10% more.  If you go that route then you can’t cash that out and must be used to play at the casino.  Well I am sure you know how slots are so you can never tell.  I want to say it’s fun but the payback is worse than land based.  They are doing table games.  Not very busy!  This is not a casino cruise!

You can go there for a 3 course sit down lunch for 20 bucks.  The daily lunch special is listed on the chalkboard on your final picture.

Yeah I know but we prefer to have specialty dinning at dinner time and wonder around during lunch.

If you get a perks free inside cabin, it's very reasonable if you can get one last minute.  We did our 5 day inside with classic drinks package, wifi and tips for about 700 pp all in with port fees.

Wow, that's a good deal!   So far we have sailed in balconies, Aqua and Suites.  I think I'd be find in an inside cabin.   Hubby thinks he needs a balcony, but I think he'd be fine in an inside cabin. How can you beat that price?  Some of our family members do not understand why we love cruises so much.  We try to explain that you get it all without a lot of work:  sunshine,  relaxation, ports of call, great food, great drinks, and great entertainment.

Day 2

Eden… the lobster is a must must must.  Do not be afraid of this menu, it is amazing!  You need to experience it yourself and decide.

We're in an S3 suite next week on the Apex.  We have a 4 night speciality dining package.  I'd prefer the 3 night but it's sold out.  The hubby wants me to cancel because he thinks the Luminae is good so why book the speciality restaurants too.  I like to try it all.  I'm paying with OBC from the TA so I think I should keep it.

@BennyBrun....WOWZA what a beauty of a ship!  Talk about cruising in luxury, guessing it is pretty pricey to sail on Celebrity.

Your photos are amazing and really enjoying following along.

OMG thank you so much.  It is priced higher than Carnival but the service and food is amazing and it’s not fair compare it to Carnival.  You can still find great last minute deals but I would not count on $50.00 rate like they offer on VIFFP.  It is a very different experience and very different type of cruise vacation.  I do miss center stage though and Shaq’s chicken!

This is just my personal opinion.  I am sure the food at Luminae is amazing but from the looks of it, I am not sure I am crazy about the location and entrance and the presentation.  The Blu restaurant seemed more elegant and with a better presence.  The MDRs are beautiful and very spaced out depending on the passenger count and not have to worry about be contact traced back.

I think you should try the specialty dinning because the food is another level.  The presentation and the food quality and the experience is well worth it.  We also did the 4 night and so far no regrets!  We are even going to repeat Eden.

Finally caught up!  We're scheduled for Apex in April, followed by Harmony of the Seas.  Can't wait!

A number of people from our roll call have cancelled for Covid reasons, but we're trying to be positive and hope that things change for the better by April.  Less people on the ship, but you're photos may make the reservations climb!!

Looking forward to more!

We may be neighbors this Saturday, we are also in an S3 on the 10th.

Just trying to come up with a solution to your conundrum since you did not like Le Petite Chef

Thank you!!!  I appreciate that.  It’s not that I don’t like le petite chef, I just feel like I have done it once I don’t feel the need to do it again. Like we did it in the Summit, I just don’t feel we need to do it again on the Apex so soon.  Would prefer a sit down French dinner instead.

Agree about Le Grand Bistro…the daily special rack of lamb on Edge in July was as good as my own!  We are due to sail on Apex B2B on February 12th…fingers crossed!

It is an amazing ship and people need to decide for themselves and do what makes them feel comfortable after reviewing the facts and pictures lol.

It’s the ultimate vacation.  You plan ahead and then sit back and enjoy everything.  So relaxing.
