Morecruisesplz Posted January 31, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2022 We have an old next cruise open booking. I asked our TA to book a cruise using that certificate. Royal told her we had to book it direct with Royal AND could not transfer it once booked. We used to buy these on every cruise and at the time, they were automatically assigned to the TA of record on the current cruise. Rare twangster Posted January 31, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2022 I recently transferred a NextCruise open booking to a TA who then changed it to the ship and sail date I wanted. Process worked the same as transferring a direct booking. The ship was listed as "NextCruise" while it was an open booking. However this was an open booking certificate from November.
Morecruisesplz Posted January 31, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted January 31, 2022 So it's probably due to how long ago we bought it. Thanks, twangster!

We have an old one too. It still has Friends & Family certificates with it. We haven't tried to use it yet. We need to find friends or family that want to cruise with us. Morecruisesplz Posted February 1, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted February 1, 2022 We just booked. They had to assign a new reservation # to get it done. I will try tomorrow to transfer to TA. (BTW, we saved $700 on the deposit because they use the NCC deposit. Get to hold on to our money for a little while.)
