How far in advance should I receive information about registering for the pier side Covid test.

I think it was a week prior for us.

For those who have sailed, do you just set up the account?  For some reason, I thought I would be assigned a time to test.

Isn’t it tied to your assigned boarding time?

For some reason, I thought that you got assigned a specific test time, but I guess that isn't the case.

When you check in ahead of cruise, you are allocated  a boarding time; when you turn up you are then taken for the test. You will also be sent an  email 1/2 weeks before to register for the test and  save some time, but if this proves difficult, don’t worry, it’s not essential.
