Spirit will be taking over the Freedom's Alaska sailings. Freedom will be moved to Port Canaveral and take over Elation's sailings. Elation will move up to Jacksonville.

So, this will mean there will be 2 spirit classes going to Alaska-Spirit out of Seattle, and Miracle out of S.F.

This is a huge problem for us. We are booked on the Freedom in an accessible cabin for 3. There is literally only 1 accessible cabin that can accommodate 3 on all of the Spirit class ships, and it’s a suite.

The problem in Jacksonville is not getting enough people to cruise from there, that’s not a problem. The problem is the ship has to be able to fit under the Dames Point Bridge, and the larger ships don’t fit. Interesting to go under the bridge on these smaller ships, looks like you can reach up and touch the bridge!

I guess the Spirit is the biggest class that can go there.

The Splendor is the ship replacing the Freedom; hopefully it has cabins that meet your needs.

We’re also booked on the Freedom/soon to be Splendor, but we’re hoping to move to the Spirit. We like the Spirit class (my first cruise was on the Legend), and our original cruise was going to be the Legend, too. (The Alaska cruise is the 4th reiteration of a cruise that was going to go to Norway, then Russia, then Iceland. Some changes were cancellations by Carnival, and some were based upon our comfort level with travel these days.)

Usually when we book a cruise , that’s it - we take that exact cruise. By the time we’re done, I think it will be the 6th itinerary, 5th change!

Glad I checked the boards:(....super disappointing.

We were supposed to be on the spirit in late November spending 11 days floating around South Pacific islands  Unusual and fabulous itinerary.

Only contact we received was info re covid changes to future sailings and if we were not comfortable to contact them to cancel by Feb 13/22  no mention of anything else
