ChuckinSC Posted February 11, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2022 I’m sure I’m not the only one with a problem like this but…. I’ve had back surgery and only can walk relatively short distances without sitting and can’t stand for a long time. Is there assistance available, and if so, how would I go about finding it. We are sailing on the Enchanted Princess. Thank you.

We are sailing on the Enchanted Princess. Thank you. Notify Princess that you need wheelchair assistance as well as Port Everglades. From my experience, an employee of the Port Agent for Princess will meet you when you arrive at the pier and get you through security and check-in. There may be a special area for wheelchair guests for check-in. That person will then get you to the waiting area for embarking guests. A crew member from the ship will then bring a wheelchair from the ship, meet you, and take you aboard and will take you directly to your stateroom. At least, that is what I experienced pre-Covid. Once aboard the ship, be certain to inform the Front Office that you will need wheelchair assistance when disembarking. From my experience, what I described above, will take place in the reverse. The Port Agent staff member will take you directly to where the taxis or shuttles are located. Don't forget to offer a gratuity to each of the person's assisting you.

Marie51 Posted February 13, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2022 We just did this recently. We were on Royal Caribbean not princess and just notify them ahead of time that you will need wheelchair assistance. They got my sister in a wheelchair right there at check-in and took her on the ship all the way to the buffet and dropped her off there. Also request wheelchair assistance when it’s time to leave the ship and they will take you off the ship through customs and to your car or taxi stand whatever you need.
