The Bliss concierge team needs to start giving passengers the list of shows doing while we are waiting to board. I’ve been on two Haven sailings on the Bliss, one out of Seattle and one out of LA. Both of them had delayed boarding (norovirus extra cleaning for Seattle and Coast Guard inspection out of LA) so we boarded just after noon. It would have been nice to peruse the shows while waiting, even though I had pre-booked “Six” for the LA sailing (it was not yet available on the Seattle cruise). Now that I know they do this, I’ll be asking the concierge team when I get to the lounge on my upcoming Bliss cruise. Thanks for the heads up.

How did you pre-book the "Six" for that cruise?

Folks, here is some advice which you can choose to take or not take.  

 

Main Shows:  If you are in the Haven, just book which ever show you want to go to with the Haven Desk.  Don't worry you will be closed out on shows. 

Small Venue Shows: No reservations are taken, they are first come first served for everyone.  SOME folks say you get escorted in the back entrance by the Haven Desk.  I personally have never gotten that treatment but maybe in the future.  Just know, These small venues are policy at first come first served.

Specialty Restaurants:  Book the moment you can book them.  On Teppanyaki, contact the Haven Pre-Cruise Desk.  I always book this for my last night because it is so much fun. When you attempt to make a reservation for odd numbers, just choose the number above it.  3=4, 5=6. This is for the normal sit down Specialty Restaurants. 

Pre-Cruise Haven Desk:  They simply put into your portfolio what you request is.  Not a Guarantee for sure.  Just ask when you get on the ship and most of the time, it will be done.

Contemplating upgrading to a Haven suite for our November cruise.  Can anyone describe what is in the Haven Spa?  I called NCL but she wasn't sure.  I suspect she may have been reading me the description of the larger spa with general access.  Thanks!

The Haven does not have a unique spa.  There are Haven Spa Suites but they access the general access spa.

 

Haven spa suites are the perfect way to experience a spa vacation. In The Haven's Spa Suite with Balcony you'll find a king-sized bed, hot tub, oversized waterfall shower and multiple body spray jets, spa décor, easy access to the Mandara Spa and Fitness Center, as well as the complimentary access to the Thermal Spa Suites during regular spa hours. The Haven's Spa Suite is a perfect way to relax and rejuvenate.

Available on Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Bliss, and Norwegian Epic.

I'll just add that Pr1ma has a thermal suite also. And, the Haven on Pr1ma does have its' own cold room and sauna on the sundeck. New amenities I wasn't aware of until looking to book a November cruise on Pr1ma. Yeeeha! But, no Haven Spa Suites available on Pr1ma. Booo!

As already mentioned there isn’t a Haven Spa, but some ships have one or two rooms off the gym for spa treatments.

I was in the haven on the Breakaway a few years ago.  I remember there being a sauna in that area.  Plus there are two treatment rooms.

No, it wasn't.  I find it difficult to believe that NCL would stop you from bringing a wine aboard just because they have it in stock.  I've never brought wine aboard NCL but I have on other lines and the wines I brought were not checked against any list.  Until NCL publishes a list of wines which are not allowed, I simply don't see how they could enforce this.

On the Joy Haven 7/1 with P+. Got off at Port Canaveral, went to Walmart, bought 4 bottles of Veuve Clicquot. Used to be on by the glass P+, now only in Le Bistro. Delivered to our cabin that night at 9:30 p.m. Major inconvenience but able to drink what we like. (Waste of money for P+ on an aside.)

This is exactly what Getaway had also. Since they are mostly sister ships, this makes sense. So @Ballwin Babe, I think davencl's answer is the best for what you're looking for. We've used that sauna on Getaway before, but not the private massage rooms.

I started on page 1 & am now on page 40. 

I can not emphasize enough the value of actually READING from page 1!! Every couple pages it seems some one chimes in a question that is most always answered the page before! 🙄 

That being said, here goes my question ( I'm still bound & determined to finish the entire thread)

My question: we're booked (first time) Haven Spa Balcony December 4th Norwegian Bliss. 

We're on the West Coast & got the flights on our booking too. 

We would like to arrive 2 days before. 

Would we ask now our pre-cruise Haven Concierge to do this?

She was able to easily change our specialty dining reservations over the phone yesterday. 

Thank you all for your help. 

We're fairly new to Norwegian and brand new to The Haven

The pre-cruise concierge doesn't handle travel arrangements.

You need to contact your travel agent or NCL.

You need to hurry because there are limits on when you can make those requests.

Have you considered booking those flights yourself?

It might cost a bit more but reading the NCL flight threads...

@LindaKB It seems your question about about having your flights coming in two days prior to embarkment.  I am on lots of cruise brand boards and this issue is something that some of the brand have handled. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer for NCL.  It has nothing to do with being in the Haven thought. Please call your travel agent immediately or if you purchased directly from NCL, call them.

 

The one thing I do know is that once the ticket is issued, that is all she wrote.  Let us know what happens.
