COVID Testing

Has anyone recently gone to Lab Doctor on SE 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale for a Rapid Antigen test prior to embarkation.  They do not take reservations and accept walk-ins only.  We are wondering if there are lines of people outside or if it is reasonably quick to get the test and be on our way?

Yes we used them in January. There was a line, but we were only in line about 15 minutes. while in line you fill out your paperwork. The test was quick and you wait outside for results. They  bring your paperwork out to you. We waited for 15 minutes, had paperwork and we were done.  This was done at noon, on a Thursday. Later we saw no line outside. Very nice and professional. Antigen test is $49.00 per person.

Thank you very much for this information. We won’t have a hire car after flying in internationally, so is there somewhere to wait outside please ?

Also, can you confirm Lab Doctor results are acceptable to Princess?

Many thanks.

The Lab Doctor office is part of a shopping mall complex on SE 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale across the street from the Embassy Suites.  There is lots of space for waiting outside.  Princess does accept a Rapid Antigen test.

Princess accepts the paperwork you will receive from Lab Doctor. we used them in January.  Also, shops and places to eat around the shopping center. Good area to walk, if you are staying at any of the hotels around there.

If you go to curative.com you will find several sites in Ft. L. that offer free rapid tests, and they take appointments.  I'm pretty sure they're sponsored by Broward Cty.  I checked with Princess, and the rapid NAAT test is accepted.

We flew in two days before our cruise and didn't want to run around town trying to find a test. Instead we used the BinaxNow AG proctored test. Took the test in our hotel room. It is a self test and an agent watches you take the test via the camera on your phone or laptop computer. Results show up in their app and in your email within minutes.

Removed all the anxiety of finding a place to take a test and get the results back in time for the cruise. Removes the need for transportation to and from a testing site.

Princess does accept this test.
