Flights by Celebrity Issues

The savings originally would have been about $300.  The male agent yesterday told me that the airfares I saw on the FBC site were only for new cruises.  I accepted that and settled for the $140 difference.  I only realized this morning that the fare he quoted me was for the wrong return flight.  And then, of course, the actual Delta fare changed overnight so by today it matched the cost of the mistaken itinerary.  So, the agent's mistake cost us about $160.  I didn't mention all this in the original post as it was just a sideshow to the points I was making.

How much in savings is worth the phone call and the hassle?  Again, next time I'll book directly with the airline.

I have pretty much the same issue: able to select seats on the outbound Delta but not the AA return.  And yes, it's an AA flight, not operated by any other entity.  When I log into AA it shows that the tickets have not been paid.  I have decided to just keep trying periodically since I am flying BC and the seat location just isn't that important.

See the 11/02 flight below?  It is a Flight by Celebrity and it is not ticketed.  I had to add it to my flight and it is on my list.

When I hit select, it goes to a screen when I can change my seats.  What does yours say when you hit the select button?

For me, it is not different that all my other directly booked flight.  As you know AA allows you to chose seats even before you pay for your ticket/put it on hold.

Perhaps my FF status allows this and yours does not?  There must be something different?

I did add it to my flights in AA and still no seat selection.  I suspect if I call I might get somewhere, but I've decided to let it go.

Are these actually AA flights flown on AA planes?  (Not a codeshare operated by a non AA partner an AA codeshare number?)

We are not on a codeshare flight, but an actual AA flight from BCN to Chicago, Chicago to SFO.

Same thing for us.  However, we have paid our cruise and airfare in full but FBC has not issued the air tickets yet.  We also tried to switch our return flight for 2 of our family members from SFO to LAX and were told the fare would increase by $450, even though the FBC website showed the fares otherwise!

That would be really frustrating.  I hope it gets sorted in your favor.

Glad to hear that it is not really an issue for you.  But I am curious.  What happens when you hit the “select” button next you the flight you added to your “My flights”?

You do get charged $200 extra per person for any change made after final payment.
I also hope it works out for you.

Perhaps you mean on the FBC website, I haven't tried there bc I booked on the phone with an agent.  I have; however, been trying directly on the AA website.  It allows me to login, add all my personal details but when I try to manage the trip it gives me a message that the flight has not been ticketed (see below).

Since I am traveling alone and in BC I am not too worried about it (if the circumstances were different, and/or the seat layout problematic,  I'd be much more bothered).  I just don't feel like making a call to get this settled when I know it often happens that people cannot select seats.
