Anyone getting responses from shareholder benefits at NCL for onboard credit?

I submitted my shareholder docs this past Monday for our cruise on the 6th for the $100 onboard credit.   Got an automated email we will respond within 24 hrs.   Not a word sense.   Of course it comes from a “do not reply” email from NCL.   Anyone else getting a response?

Submitted the request on the 16th, got an immediate acknowledgement with the 24 hr. expected response time. Got 2 emails on the 20th. One was saying that the $100 OBC had been added, the other was an amenity confirmation showing the added OBC along with all the other amenities. if the same holds true for you, look for it Fri.

I remember the good old days when NCLH used to call after you submitted the forms to let you know the OBC was applied. Then once they stopped with the calling, they would send an email to let you now it had been applied. Now it just shows up on your reservation. But last month I had to email twice to finally receive it.

We will be sailing this year for the first time since buying stock. Do you get the $100 OBC once per year or on every cruise you take?

Its for each cruise you take. The last time we sent in our info we got no email notice but it showed up on our online account within a few days.

I am going to submit my shareholder request but am not sure how far in advance of cruise date it can be submitted. At one time it was 30 days. Is this still the policy?

I submitted 4 requests on 2/13/22 for cruises in March, June and July.  On 2/14/22 I received 2 Amenity Confirmation emails showing the $100 had been added to the last 2 cruises (late June, early July) but the $100 showed up on all 4 cruises in my online Vacation Summary.

Even if you get a confirmation, even if it appears on your vacation summary, check onboard that it is on your account by the end of the second  cruise day.

If it isn't, go to guest services onboard, and they'll ask you to email them all the data you sent for the shareholder request so they can follow it up with Miami.

We've had to do this for 5 out of our 7 cruises so far this year. Most of the time, even if it's on the vacation summary, the credit is simply not applied to the account.

Interesting.  I've never not had my credits show on my account. 5 cruises since October.

But I haven't gotten any response for 2 cruises that are over 1 year out, sent in at the same time as 3 others that have been approved.

I have always been operating under the assumption that the shareholder OBC could not be combined with any other discounts or offers, such as the current 35% off. Should I have been claiming my benefits this whole time? 🙂

Yes.  It's not combinable with certain travel agent fares, maybe casinos at sea, but all general public fares are valid regardless of discounts and offers.  To be clear, it's still valid with free at sea, cruise next, future cruise credit.

My next cruise is in just 6 days so it's too late to apply there, but I'll keep it in mind for next time. Thanks for the info.

Go ahead and apply.  The worst that can happen is that your request doesn't get processed.

In the past I have had no problems with last minute requests, but on my recent cruise they didn't answer in time. I mentioned it to the CruiseNext rep on board, they put in a request to someone with my info, and the OBC appeared within one or two days.

Yes. You can get shareholder benefits with all of the current Free at See and "discounts" offered by NCL. It is even available for cruises comp'ed by the casino.

Our responses have been in about 24 hours. Not to late to put in a request. Not sure why folks just to submit a request rather than waiting a day or two for Cruise Critic responses.

Our NCL cruise isn't until Jan. 2024.  I submitted the request on 5/5/22 and got an email 5 days later (from an actual person) stating my $100 had been applied.  It is a 15 night cruise so I should have received $250.  I went to my cruise summary and it had the correct amount posted.

So it seems the more reliable source is your cruise summary, not the emails you may or may not get.

Our recent request took about a week.  We received an email confirmation and it was reflected on our vacation summary at the same time.  If there is ever a delay, we've been able to call corporate for swift resolution.
