Drinks on us question

They have to run your S&S card when you order a drink, regardless if it is regular price, Cheers or Drinks On Us. Your slip to sign should come back with a zero ($0.00) assuming you were in the system correctly. Most guests tip a dollar for free drinks when signing the slip and probably leads to better service, too.

I have a question about this as well. When I booked I also got the Drinks on Us included , my daughter who is 21 is sailing with me . Does she get the DRinks on us as well when we are in the casino or just me?

it is just you unless your offer specifically said you and other guest.  there are 4 distinct casino drink offers

  • dos for only the person listed on the offer
  • dos for you and a guest
  • dos anywhere for the person on the offer
  • dos anywhere for you and a guest

basically, the casino buys your drinks when gambling, if you have drinks anywhere the casino bought you cheers - all plans fall into the 15 limit per day

Exactly as Jiggs said.  I will add a couple things.

If your companion doesn't have DOU but plays a fair amount the casino manager can add it during the cruise.

Also, the waiters don't really care what you do with your drink so you can order 9ne for yourself,  when it's delivered order another for your companion.

Remember,  tips work.  There is a 5 minute buffer between ordering drinks.  You are limited to 15 a day regardless of whether you are buying or on a package.

What happens if you buy Cheers and then they decide to offer you DOU?

I know in the past my husband has gotten the DOU during the cruise.  I was pregnant so we didn't buy Cheers.  We are sailing this time on a casino offer but I don't believe DOU is included.  Just curious.

Nothing it is still only 15 drinks regardless.  DOU only good for the casino unless you find a bar tender that will fill regardless when at Casino bar where Cheers is good for anywhere on the ship at any bar

I meant do you get money back for Cheers.
There are DOU offers that allow you to get drinks anywhere on the ship.  Just wondering if they would bother offering if you had cheers.
I mean, we'd probably play the extra money we got back.

An older post mentioned going to the Casino Host on embarkation day to get a DOU specific card. Is that still the case? Would hate to hand my S&S card accidentally and get a bill.

DOU card should be in your room along with a lanyard

They do not use a DOU card anymore, it is loaded in the ships computer system on which offer you

have, if you do not know, you can check in the casino when you get on or by emailing the casino and ask what offer you have.

True for Cheers but we also had a DOU card with lanyard on the cruise that we just got off of on Saturday.  Also numerous people were going to the Casino Bar prior to the Casino opening on embarkation day to get drinks and the bar tenders were holding steady with no drinks until the Casino is open

Was on the MG, had the DOU in the casino whiile playing, did not have a card, just used the sail and sign card.

We were on Magic, I agree with you but apparently something was amiss because we also had Cheers as part of our Elite package

once it was open were they allowing DOU at the bar or only if you ordered from a server while gambling?  Seems like a bit 'it depends'

You won't get anything back on Cheers. However, we have mentioned to the casino host that the DOU was useless because we had Cheers and they have always offered us something. Usually free steakhouse for 2 but have got the Italian place a couple times.

DOU is while playing in the casino. I wouldn't count on getting bar service with it even though a few people have said in the past they did.

Question:  I just booked some cruises that say:

  • Drinks on Us! Included everywhere on board the ship.  Terms apply.

Where do I find these terms??  I just wanted to know if this just for one or both passengers.  Anytime I have booked a cruise with DOU (in the casino) it included both passengers, but this one doesn't say.  I went back and looked at some of my other offers and some say:

  • Drinks On Us! included while playing in the casino for you and a companion. Terms apply
  • and some say:
  • Drinks On Us! included everywhere on board the ship. Terms apply

You have to email the casino directly? Im very interested about this because i know i have drinks on us but im bringing my buddy who is a first timer (and a drinker) so i doubt he gets it to but id like to know prior to going.
