got off the Getaway (2/18-2/27), Simon the cruise director said we were sailing with 2024 people. This sailing was during winter break for many school systems. One of the bartenders told us that the numbers were going much lower for the sailing depart 2/27.

I thought embarkation in NYC was held up by NYC officials. Husband and I lined up at 7:30am and were off the ship and in a taxi by 8:20 am.

can't help with haven : )

Thanks! How was embarkation? Disembarkation sounded easy! Did the ship feel empty? Thats only about 50% capacity...

Embarkation took longer because we had to have a rapid test, which understand NCL is not doing anymore beginning March 1st. Too many people arrived earlier then the time they selected. We arrived at 1pm and there were loads people waiting for their results.

We just got off the Getaway out of NYC this past Sunday.  They seemed to have most everything streamlined by now.  Our only issue was with the Covid Testing.  My wife's and my test took about 30-45 minutes but with my (adult) son, we were waiting and waiting and eventually about an hour and a half later, they announced his number for a retest.  That took about another 45 minutes from start to finish.  We got to the pier at 9 and didn't get on the ship until a little after 12.    On the ship everything went like clockwork.  No lines, except at Syd Norman's which is a limited space venue.   They really do need to start taking reservations there.   The theater was half full for the shows.   No issues with dinner or anything like that.  There were always loungers at the pool, but there were only a couple of days where it was REALLY warm enough.   The only thing is that it seemed a lot of activities seemed subdued.  I'll be curious to see what happens at the end of August when we take our next cruise.

I’m on the Getaway now. It’s my first cruise so I don’t have anything else to go on, but it seems like maybe there are more people on board this week than last week, but nothing crazy. It’s probably because it’s spring break for a lot of colleges.

Everything’s been going really smoothly except that they just announced we’re running behind and staying in Port Canaveral over night tonight and skipping GSC because of high winds and currents on the way down here. Disappointing but not earth shattering.

Embarkation was really smooth - as of March 1, they’re no longer testing at the port so that probably smoothed things out.

Ncl gonna lose lotta money with no gsc an all those cabanas unsold. I hope pirates don't board overnight in Florida. At least the room won't be rocking in the ocean so will be peace sleeping

My sailing on Getaway from NYC is coming up first week of April so all this info is great.

do we know when the glow party normally happens and also does anyone know why booking shows isn’t available in the app pre cruise at the moment?

For some reason, shows booking on board. I hope we don't miss GSC, looking forward to that stop for just chillin'

We just got off the Getaway on Sunday. It was a fabulous cruise with beautiful weather. We had GSC. 1400 on board with a sold out Haven except for the family debarked in Orlando for fighting. Concierge Omar was wonderful and Million Dollar Quartet as good as Broadway. I hit four Hand pays in the casino. Only problem was the smoking because the getaway doesn’t have a separate smoking room in the Casino. Food great. Service excellent all over the ship. We went through immigration in Norfolk so was off the ship in 15 minutes in NY.

Can anyone provide info on who the ships officers are?

Apologies if these are not the right way up My phone has a habit of not behaving.

I'm on the Getaway now. 1485 people so less people than last week.

We had a meet and greet with about 45ppls. Good turnout and lots of chat.

Thanks everyone for this info. We're boarding this Sunday!

What was the on-board time for Norfolk & Nassau? Since both are short stays we're trying to see just how much time we have in port. In Nassau we're leaving at 2pm 😞

We don’t know. We were next door and heard ( young man) screaming and yelling and banging around and the next thing we saw was security in the hall and the next day their luggage in the hall. We left Nassau at 1:00 and Norfolk at 11:00 ! Our Norfolk excursion was canceled . The only one offered was a two hour bus or walking tour highlights. Lots of people got off in Nassau. Weather was gorgeous. We spent the day on the sun deck

Book shows on board ( Haven concierge) or in Headliners. Book because there is capacity control. But I don’t think anyone was turned away.

Can you use one of the touch screen kiosk to book shows ?

Was on the same Getaway cruise as "Treasure Hunter".  I totally agree that the level of smoke in the casino was a problem.  I thought it was truly brutal...but, ha!, not brutal enough to deter me....but, on second thought, think of how much money I could've saved if I walked out.

Anyway, I was told by the casino staff that our Feb 27 cruise was the first in a while that allowed smoking again in the casino.  They were bummed as well.  I saw one guy plead with staff to open the roulette table by the casino cage, as the smoking level by all the slots on the other side was unbearable.
