Ashland Posted March 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2022 We'll be arriving at MCO around 6:00pm. Picking up our car rental and will be heading out for pre-cruise stay in Port Canaveral. Our extended family of 6 will include a 5 & 8 year old so we need a convenient quick/easy place to grab a bite of dinner. So some suggestions that'll be on or way...fast food will be fine for this. Thanks.
hrhdhd Posted March 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2022 You could eat at the airport. There are lots of restaurants just north of the airport on Semoran Blvd., or if you take the Narcoossee Rd. exit from the Beachline, there are restaurants in both directions. Thanks..but no to the airport. We'll want to grab our luggage and get our rental car and get going. Hoping for some specifics we don't have to hunt for. hrhdhd Posted March 14, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Look at Google maps. Between the airport and Bent Pine Dr. on Semoran Blvd. north of the airport, I count 32 restaurants, most of which are visible from the road (it's a tourist area, being so close to the airport). What type of food? There's everything from Longhorn to Chili's to Chick-fil-A to Five Guys. 1
Capt_BJ Posted March 14, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2022 on SR528 to at least US-1 in Cocoa and maybe even SR3 on Merritt Island <35 miles> there is nothing .... there aren't even many exits! It is the Semorian area or wait 'til Cocoa or beyond . . . There's a Cracker Barrel and a WaWa 1 mile north of 528 on Semorian - due north of the airport. 1
FOPMan Posted March 14, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2022 MCO’s food court is pretty decent (McDonalds, Chick-fil-a, Cinnabon.). it is not overpriced, and would let you get straight onto the expressway/beeline.

It is the Semoran area or wait 'til Cocoa or beyond . . . This is correct. Take the airport's NORTH exit beyond SR528 (Beachline Expy) onto SR436 (Semoran Blvd) and there's a good variety of restaurants. Once you actually get on SR528 eastbound there is nothing until you get to Cocoa or even into the town of Cape Canaveral. I would recommend checking out the choices on 436 and then go back to 528 for the drive east.
Ashland Posted March 16, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted March 16, 2022 Thanks so much all of you...hope this info will help someone else. We've decided to use a private shuttle instead to get to our PC hotel.. Now hope we can find somewhere to eat near Home2Suites not too crazy about dragging two little ones to far that have had a long day of travel. Maybe even get a delivery to our hotel instead....any suggestions?
Capt_BJ Posted March 16, 2022 #9 Share Posted March 16, 2022 There's a McD about 1/4 mile. Also a pizza place and a Greek/American diner that distance but these are on the other side of A1A so if you walk be VERY careful crossing A1A in this area ..... The 'port entertainment area' with Grills and Fishlips is about .6 miles but not a recommended walk .. very short taxi or UBER. Grills is very kid friendly and if sitting out doors they can watch boats .... fish etc

Capt_BJ Posted March 16, 2022 #11 Share Posted March 16, 2022 The new Home2 and Hampton Suites - both Hilton properties - are two sides of one building sharing lobby and pool areas . . .

Marie51 Posted March 17, 2022 #13 Share Posted March 17, 2022 If it were me I would not worry about eating dinner along the way. I would just come straight to Port Canaveral it’s only about a 45 minute drive from the Orlando airport. Check into your hotel and as I’m sure you will all be exhausted from traveling just order something to get delivered to the hotel. People do it all the time.
KeepCalmBearOn Posted March 17, 2022 #14 Share Posted March 17, 2022 I'd eat at Zarrella's Italian & Wood Fired Pizza. It is about an 800 yard walk from the Home2Suites or you can get delivery from them.
Capt_BJ Posted March 17, 2022 #15 Share Posted March 17, 2022 (edited) just be VERY careful crossing A1A ........ the hotel appears to have a very nice pool area ..... maybe delivery and let the kids burn energy is best plan.
