Why would this sailing be canceled if the ones in Nov are a go, particularly our 13 Nov Wonder?

Presumably because that week there’ll be the official naming ceremony and a number of corporate/media/trade events & sailings.

Amazing that something like this by a large corporation having their act together couldn't have been planned out when the schedule came out.

They were likely planning to do something before the March 4 maiden voyage but it was all they could do to make March 4 so they are pushing the naming ceremony to December.

And for those of that were already moved from Harmony when Wonder took its place…well, doesn’t leave the best impression.  Especially with all the shuffling we’ve all gone thru during Covid, and with the pathetic replacement offering for that same week. Let’s see…a GS in the suite neighborhood on Wonder for 7 nights….for a suite on Jewel, 6 nights.  Hmmm…..thanks, but a big nope there. 😂

We booked Celebrity Apex.

Really?  I find it amazing that on a multi-year construction project the size of a monstrous cruise ship that they only plan to miss their targeted dates by a week.

Ship will have sailed like 8 months all ready, why even bother with  welcome events, seems silly why bother?

By December there is going to be nothing new about Wonder, they will have tons of advertising on Tv's and such so it won't be new news to anyone and by that time  another cruise line will have out a bigger and better ship by  then.

Well, they do take delivery well before the first sailing, for sea trials. There is some room for error built in. Apparently not enough with Wonder, though. 😂

Lots of people on this sailing in other social media groups are disappointed, but it is what it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I figure it’s because they still want to christen the ship and it’s not long after she returns from Europe. I guess they want a second media blitz over here.

The same thing happened to our 9 night Odyssey cruise that we were booked on for 11-11-21. We booked in September 2020.  There were 4 couples going.  They canceled it in March of 2021. Said they were shortening it to a 2 day travel agent cruise or whatever.  SOOO DISAPPOINTED!  like someone above said about Wonder, it was already sailing Europe for months.  So why did they let us book then cancel it for a PR opportunity.   When they released the booking schedule why in tarnation didn’t they plan on the PR cruise at the time and just push the other sailings to avoid all this cancel and rebook.  No wonder the stock is all over the place.  How much money are they losing with all the extra money they give people to rebook flights and onboard credits when they do this?  Oh well, I’m still going to keep cruising…

Some of those disappointed vloggers will say anything to garner attention.  More controversy equates to more views which is more money in their pocket.  It’s all about money in their pocket.

Lots going on in Port Canaveral.

Our 4  night December 5 independence of the seas just became a 3 night.

We were told it was done because of wonder events

Then I understand that the Friday, December 9  three  night has been changed to a Thursday, December 8  four night.

I guess they needed the docking space on December 9.

That's the problem, they are big and they do not care about the customers. People will cry and then still book cruises with them, why should they care?

There is more profit from large media coverage events compared to the losses from one or two cruise cancellations.   Just like ship charters.  More money to be made so they charter ships out and cancel booked guests.  Most folks get over it.  Some don’t but the losses from a few hundred upset guests pale when compared to the profits made.   Yep, it sucks for us guests but they are a for profit company that answer first to shareholders and second to guests.

Thank you so much Royal.  I assume those of us who booked this cruise many months ago are unwelcome guests.
