buc fan Posted March 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2022 We have just returned from Mariner that went to Labadee and had a beach lounger clamshell on Adrenaline Beach and enjoyed it, but my DW has knee issues getting in/out of the water. We have another cruise scheduled for the end of August which also goes back to Labadee. It was very rocky in the water and the sand was steep and very soft going up to the beach lounger clamshells. Are any of the other beaches on Labadee easier to get into/out of for people with knee/foot issues? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. ptf2009 Posted March 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2022 Columbus beach is not rocky and is easy to get into the water. It is located to the left when you enter the island. I think there are also vehicles who will drive you over there because it is kind of a hike walking to that area. So good to hear that Labadee is now open and accepting the cruise ships.

Rare brillohead Posted April 11, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2022 Nellie's Beach or Columbus Cove. My personal preference is Columbus Cove. Take the tram all the way past the vendor area to the end. There's food there and a huge beach with mostly sand (very rare rock here and there) and lots of room to spread out. Nellie's is a smaller beach and more crowded.

There are trees providing shade, plus many umbrellas, and chairs in sun and shade both -- all free/included. Pics below are from a couple weeks ago. View of the ship from the beach at Columbus Cove. Cruise a holic Posted June 9, 2022 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2022 How is the barbecue? Is it self serve or does the staff serve the food?
ptf2009 Posted June 10, 2022 #9 Share Posted June 10, 2022 The barbecue is self serve. We were just there last week and unfortunately it was the worst barbecue lunch we have ever had at Labadee. We were so disappointed and said that we would just go back to the ship to eat lunch in the future unless they make imporvements.
Akiba Posted September 2, 2022 #10 Share Posted September 2, 2022 My experience at lunch in Labadee has always been terrible food sitting out in big hotel trays getting cold and terrible, The opposite in Coco Cay great food great choice well managed. The only thing you have to pay for would be a cabana, bungalow, beach bed, or "clamshell" shade tent, but a regular lounger is free. You may have a local worker "help you" find a chair and brush the sand off it with a rag, and they'll expect a small cash tip for doing so, but there's no actual charge for the loungers or umbrellas.
