Is there a Hop On/Hop Off bus near the pier?

I don't think so.  There are Hop On/Hop Off tours but buses run around every 15-20 minutes and go over the entire island in various routes.  Central bus station is near the cruise terminal.  There are "retour" cards for about US$5 that get you 2 trips, say to beach and back.

No....Aruba isn't that kind of port. Just after you exit the cruise terminal opt for an around the island tour...several vendors offer this. Will be there again tomorrow morning will give you some exact info then.

RCI docked at a different dock than we have in the past. A much further walk very disappointed.

Not the same vendors that we have seen in the past. Gone is the nice big air conditioned bus for $20 that tours around the island....Replaced with an old windowless bus for $25.

So you didn't dock at the downtown pier? Was it at one of the basins just north? Were there other ships in port that day?

We walked into town. Did some shopping had a drink and walked back. We've been to this port many times before and have done tours.

Yes...I believe HAL was docked at the closer dock.
