Feedback & Advice on the Perks Extra and Perks Ultra Packages?

Hi, Everyone!

We're sailing the Mexican Riviera on Millennium in December and are curious about the value of purchasing one of the Perks packages.  We'd love your feedback and advice.  Perks Extra is $54.99 per passenger per day, so $440 each for our 8 -day cruise.  The perks seems VERY generous IF EACH OF US receives the benefits listed -- not so generous (actually a rip-off) if the perks are per stateroom, or $880 for the two of us:

What's Included

  • $250 shore excursion credit - you will be contacted within 3 business days after booking to select your excursions.
  • Premium Wifi (one device)
  • Two dinners in specialty restaurants of your choice - reserve with the Maitre D' once onboard.
  • Laundry service (one bag).

So we're figuring that's about $650 worth of services for $440, that's a great deal (about 30% savings).

Our cruise fare included the Elevate package, so we already have Premium Drinks, Basic Wi-Fi, included tips and a $300 OBC.

Thoughts??

Do you need the faster WiFi! - if not the perk is of no value.

2 dinners - always available on board at a discount.

Laundry - really on an 8 day cruise? you will need to have it in by day 4 . If you are Elite you get a free bag each. Always available as a special offer on board.

Shore excursion credit - do you take X's excursions? If you didn't have the credit how many excursions would you do on this cruise? We only do private excursions so my comments on these might be unfair.

Our rule of thumb is "if X are pushing it, it is for their benefit not ours".

At the moment it is uncertain whether we will be allowed to do ‘your own thing,’ in some countries. No one can say what the protocols will be in the summer, never mind next winter.😱

True but the question was about value. For us there is no value in X's excursions. We do our own thing or stay on the ship. I also find it hard to believe that in December Mexico will only allow ships excursions.

We bought each package separately & did get the $250 each credit within a couple days. YMMV, but it worked for us!

Just checked the Cruise Planner and the price is  per person per day. So for $880

you would each get a upgraded wi-fi account. The cost to upgrade pre cruise if you don’t qualify for a Captains Club discount is about $135 pp.  The 2 dinners for each can probably be booked  on board at a discount for around $90 or less pp.

A bag of laundry if you don’t bat CC discount $50.  Value  before OBC  with no discounts around $275 with the OBC the value is approximately $525.

The it comes down to will you use the shore excursion $600 OBC and will you use 2 bags of wash and fold laundry within the first 4-5 days of the cruise
