Can you substitute new passengers for the passengers on the reservation because they got Covid-19

We are on the April 16 Mexico cruise on the Majestic. Our friends in the cabin next door got Covid so they are not going. I think Princess will give them FCC for their fare.

I have other friends that would like to go, I was wondering if Princess will allow the new people to take over their room so Princess does have to give the FCC.

Have they already cancelled?  If so...they just have to "start from scratch" and book. *Maybe* they can get that same cabin...but they would have to really move fast.

I've asked about switching +1s before, and they kind of hemmed and hawed until I said it'd be at least a week out, and no problem then. I've never tried switching the primary though.

It's a bit of a debacle, but give them a call and they are happy to assist. I recently had to remove my ex from a cruise, then three months later added a new person and it all worked out well.

Most often, one of the original passengers needs to be on the booking.

I thought that was what the mis-named 'Cruise with Confidence' did...
