knl03 Posted April 8, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2022 (edited) Just got an email from Regent saying that masks are now required on board our Med cruise departing in two weeks and KN95 masks required at all ports in Italy. Ugh. That’s on top of changing entry requirement to EU last week. Double ugh. And plus Venice was changed to Trieste. I’m hoping someone will tell me that all the hoops will be worth it and we will have a lovely vacation. 😢 Edited April 9, 2022 by knl03
LvnCruisin Posted April 9, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2022 You just have to wear them inside. On a bus, on a plane etc. But you do not need them outside. Fortunately it changes on May 1. So it will get better.
Boatmans Lady Posted April 9, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2022 We aren't long back and can I add, please don't rely on a digital copy of your vaccination pass. If for any reason you can't access it on your phone/tablet you will not be allowed access into whatever you are visiting I brought a pack of Ffp2 (N95) masks for the plane and our Italian stops but also took our normal masks and wore a mixture outside of Italian waters. Which ship are you sailing on?
RetiredandTravel Posted April 9, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2022 The worst part is wearing the mask for the flights (& airports) over, for us that means 15 straight hours. If you just have to wear them on indoor excursions probably not that bad. Still beats the heck out of shelter in place IMO. Enjoy your trip.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted April 9, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2022 I know that FFP2 is the standard in Europe. So are KN95 and N95 masks accepted as equivalent?
gabelle Posted April 9, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2022 Does Regent supply the KN95 masks or must we bring our own?
LvnCruisin Posted April 9, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2022 Your going to have to bring your own if you fly into Italy. Italy requires them to be worn on the plane. And everything I have seen says either FFP2 or KN95 are allowed.
jeb_bud Posted April 9, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2022 From a comfort standpoint I prefer KF94 masks. I wonder if they will be acceptable in Northern Europe.

In most of the Northern Europe Countries you do not need any mask anywhere anymore. Italy is one of the few places that still requires ffp2/kn95 standard but I doubt anybody will realize the difference to a Kf94.
Steve Q Posted April 10, 2022 #11 Share Posted April 10, 2022 Just disembarked Explorer in Rome. Honestly, some people have N95 masks, but an equal amount are just wearing the masks that most where in the U.S.
