Alaska Cruise Tour Hints/Tips?

DH and I will be heading to Alaska at the end of May for a Connoisseur Cruise Tour from Anchorage to McKinley, Denali and Copper River, followed by a cruise from Whittier to Vancouver.

 

Does anyone have any hints/tips for the cruise tour portion?  This is the first time we've gone inland in Alaska.

Be sure to take a trip into Talkeetna. Visit the Denali Brew Pub brew pub and sample the beers from Denali Brewing Company. I love their Chuli Stout but they have a number of really good beers. (The brewery is a few miles outside of town so it's not really practical to visit while on your cruise tour. We did visit it on a 7 week camping trip and enjoyed our time there.)

 

When you are at the McKinley lodge speak to the folks at the front desk and ask to be called if the mountain comes out from behind the clouds. They will call you in the middle of the night if the mountain comes out. You must request this each day. We were there for two days and the first day the mountain was (as usual) hidden. The second day (the day we were leaving) the mountain made an appearance. There were folks in our cruisetour group who were on their 5th visit and this was the first time they had been able to get a good view of the mountain.
